Per Peter Schrager, Verse was told by McVay 1 hour before the trade was announced. McVay didn't want another Goff situation on his hands.
McVay handled this one better. However, maybe a little more than an hour would've been better. lol
I do feel bad for Verse. I loved that dude as a player and person. He has to feel bad going from a perennial winner/legit SB contender to a perennial loser/legit #1 pick in the Draft contender.
I wish him well in Cleveland. They will love him there.
