Look; the Rams did really well with Goff. He was on a good upward trajectory. But, when a guy who was on another level became available, the Rams jumped, and were rewarded with a Superbowl win.
Verse is a really good young player. He is on an upward trajectory. But, he is not Myles Garrett anymore than Jared Goff is Matthew Stafford.
The Rams never seem to be satisfied with where they are. Every opportunity to get better, they do, in whatever way is possible. They don't care about a "good record". They want to win Championships. Garrett brings the AD effect back to the defense.
