First, the Rams DID draft Simpson. So, that ship has sailed.
Some people are saying it was a mistake to draft Simpson. I was looking to engage with those folks about what alternatives the Rams might have had for a QB of the future if they had drafted Lemon (or whoever) instead. And I did get some excellent feedback from fans in that camp so it seems some posters were up for a hypothetical discussion.

Second, we have absolutely no idea if the listed QB hierarchy for 2027 looks anything like what it wil be a year from now (hint: 90% probability it won't).
I thought I handled that with this assumption: "6 QBs will be drafted in the spots indicated but which QB is selected at each of those 6 spots is not locked in for this exercise. (Do not look at the names - the assumption is that the first 6 QBs taken are better prospects than the 7th.)" Not sure how I could have been more clear on that, but open to suggestions.

Third, we have no idea what the draft order will be next year and which teams will be in the QB market.
As indicated in my original post, "QBs could go at picks 1, 2, 3, 7, 14, and 25 in the first round.". For the exercise I put forth it doesn't matter which QBs are picked or which teams take them, only that 6 QBs go off the board at the spots indicated. Obviously no one knows how many QBs will go off the board before the Rams pick or what spots they will be picked in. But just to have a point of reference I went with the Mock ScRAM posted so I could illustrate the cost of moving up in the draft. The actual trade up the Rams would have had to make is most likely not represented in my post, but the trades I detailed give some idea of what it might be like to move up for a guy.

Fourth, unless Simpson dies or loses a leg, the Rams will not be the QB market next year other than at the fringe, throw a dart at the board (late), mode.
I believe that, too. The whole basis of the discussion, though, was the Rams in a universe where they did not take Simpson. Kinda like an "imagine there's no heaven" thing. (It's easy if you try, if you can believe John Lennon.) Personally I don't have much trouble dealing with a 'what if' question, a few of our Herd buddies seemed to do quite well with it. Not your cup of tea? I'm OK with that.

No offense meant.
Some of my favorite board experiences started with someone basically saying "AlbaNY, you're full of sh**". Your post wasn't close to offensive.

But tthe question itself is speculation about speculations, concerning facts that aren't apparent and what on the ground reality is today, post-draft.
100% agree. I thought it was an interesting exercise anyway.
