I see we are still trying to justify the Simpson pick. (Not you saying you are trying to do that AlbaNY)
It's still a hot topic on the internet and message boards too. I am ok with Simpson now that he is a Ram. We can't undo the pick so we have to hope he will turn out to be very good or else we will still need to draft a QB or acquire on in FA or Trade anyway. I don't see the the odds of Simpson succeeding to be any higher than the odds of a FA or trade QB would be.
Why are the only options acquiring a QB in the Draft? I see that mentioned so much since Simpson was secretly drafted.
I am not sure if McVay would be better at coaching up a rookie or coaching up a vet but I am leaning towards the vet for several reasons.
Already plenty of film to study of said Vet going against actual NFL caliber defenses.
A Vet's experience would be a huge advantage over a rookie.
There isn't a Vet QB out there that wouldn't give an arm and leg to learn under McVay.
Drafting QB's are such a crap shoot due to not knowing how they will perform at the next level after only playing against lesser college talent.
Having said that, I choose Option5.
Option 5: Sign a vet QB that needs a second chance, change of scenery and a HC that help turn his career around. Just like he did with Stafford and the Hawks did with Darnold. A chance to play for McVay would be a golden opportunity for any QB.
FWIW, I feel the same way about acquiring any new players, not just the QB. Give the vet every time. JMO
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
