I don't see how Simpson can be considered the QB2 early on. If he is not yet ready to play at all- and he's not- then don't put him in a position to be one play away from going in.

To me, for at least weeks 1-13 or so, he is the QB3. Sitting him is in his and the team's best interests. So do it.

Give Bennett every 1st half rep in pre-season, Simpson every 2nd half rep.
