You can't evaluate this draft without taking into consideration that they used one of the draft picks in a trade for a Pro Bowl CB which was the teams biggest need.
Simpson: Lots of good stuff coming out on him. Great QB coaching on this team plus a QB room with Stafford provides the optimal development for a young talented QB. You couldn't ask for a better situation.
Klare: Perfect fit for our TE Room and in 2027 we could possibly lose 3 TE's. Expect him to play big time minutes next season.
Trost: Probably better as a guard buy can play guard or tackle. 4 OL starters will be FA this is a huge need!!!
Daniels: 6th rounder so it is a plus if he makes the team. They love his hands and route running. Good size with Kupp like speed.
Keenan III: 7th rounder run stopper who might make team or practice squad.
Snead and McVay are on the same page. We got big contract coming up and are going to lose players. They need a QB of the future and that is the most important position on the team. If Simpson works out in 2027 or 2028 as a decent QB this draft is a home run. If Klare, Trost and Daniels become solid contributors and you consider the Pro Bowl CB this could go down as an all time great draft. Plus with all the contracts coming due we need a QB that is cost controlled. To me everything they did makes a lot of sense.
You can't judge this draft because you wanted them to pick a 3rd WR at 13.
