If the Rams end up trading their 1st next year for an impact player then I think drafting Simpson was the right thing to do.

All along I thought they'd get an impact player at 13 and use their 2027 1st round pick on a QB (perhaps by using additional draft capital to move up).

After thinking it over I like the idea of drafting Simpson at 13 (giving him a redshirt year) and trading next year's 1st for an established player (which carries way less risk than bringing in a rookie).

Well said AlbaNY. That would make it seem like the Rams actually had a "plan" when they took Simpson!
