Definitely not trying to start a fight because I see the wisdom in your arguments for the Oregon TE. My only reluctance is that the Rams just drafted an Oregon TE with its highest draft pick just last year. A guy who started in front of this one, that flashed but failed to fully be integrated into the Rams offense. Yes, there are excuses, Stafford's injuries, TFerg's injuries but even during the playoffs he wasn't fully integrated and I never felt comfortable when the Rams targeted him in a high value/pressure situation. There are times you can invest in bonds and wait for them to mature but the Rams aren't in one of those times we have a very limited amount of time with Stafford as our QB that unlocks our ability to stack Lombardis. We can't afford another draft and develop season from our top pick we need more plug and play (immediately contribute). Hindsight if the Rams could do it all over again they could have done better than the TFerg pick last year for what he gave us last year. A better choice and we might still be in a Super Bowl hangover. He might become the greatest Ram's TE ever but last year his contributions weren't what's that baseball stat, wins above replacement? I am not sure TFerg gave us much more than any TE on roster would have given us in the same situation. A repeat of last year could be a criminal waste of a valuable opportunity.
