If you wanted a player whom you could deploy in either coverage, would you prefer a less-physical, less athletic player or a more physical, more athletic player?
Of any of the CBs the Rams would draft with 13 or 29, they all have the physical abilities required to play either scheme. But I don't want them to pick a guy who is reliant on being a press-man guy (and has publicly stated that's what he is, that's what he prefers to be and that he'd prefer to go to a team that will use him that way) unless the Rams are heading in that direction and are willing to invest in another CB with similar abilities AND a fast and rangy safety. If they are going to continue a similar style of defense then they should draft CBs that have shown the ability to play in off-man zone.
It's like running a 3-4 vs a 4-3. Different types of players are required for each but all of them are athletic.
I think Hood is a better fit for a team like the Seahawks. But, I am not an nfl personnel guy, that's for sure.
