And personally it rubbed me the wrong way. As a USC fan I appreciate Lemon and what he did. But in terms of translating him to the Rams in the draft, and the question of whether he's the best bang for the buck at 13... I don't think he is. And I have been saying this.
So I don't want to bash the dude because he got high or full of himself in that moment or whatever it was. Young people do dumb things and the real question when they do dumb things is whether the goodness is in them to learn from it.
For myself I see him as a luxury pick because he would either push Puka out of the slot, or he would back Puka up in the slot. They could line him up outside vs corners his rookie season, where he'd be an afterthought and maybe he helps us. But my deal here is that IF we're gonna take a wideout early the rangy X type is where you get the bang for the buck. And so by extension if that is not on the board then fine, there will be defenders for sure who are need/fit options who are on the board.
This means my list at 13 has Boston as the X option, because Tate looks like he'll be off the board. And if there is a defender on the board who is graded higher, then take him. So Boston's my fallback, where McVay gets his big wideout and redzone/4 minute tool worst case. As I do think he'll be there.
