These 2 men, in the background, understand how hard it is to get such a dynamic and co-operative/complementary pairing of HC and GM, and when they are this good, you pay what the market demands to keep them. Continuity is critical in the NFL. Unless a team with a new HC and staff catch lightening in a bottle, it takes time to build a team that the HC wants and that success begins to emerge.
Of the 10 new HCs, 2 will be lucky to have better success than their predicessors. And some may never have. I feel for teams like Las Vegas that are nowhere ready to compete, yet, and with an impulsive know it all owner that interferes and demands the impossible.
It is a great era to be a Rams fan. Even when Stafford hangs'em up, the Rams already have a plan for it and will remain competitive and in the playoff hunt.
