I've gone on record with a prediction that the Rams will win out. That would, absent the same feat by the Bears, ensure that we enter the playoffs as the NFC's top seed.
In case I'm wrong, though...
Here's who you should be rooting for in Week 14. Some will be obvious. Some, perhaps, not as much.
Cowboys at Lions
This Thursday night tilt could be quite the offensive showcase (though Detroit could be without Amon-Ra St. Brown, along with the already sidelined Sam LaPorta). Both teams are chasing the 49ers for the No. 7 spot right now. The Lions are a tad closer at 7-5 (Cowboys are 6-5-1). I'd say that, given we are playing the Lions in Week 15, I'd rather they be overconfident than a cornered animal. Plus, no Rams fan should be rooting for Dallas unless absolutely necessary. ROOT FOR: LIONS Playoff simulator says Dallas marginally helps us.
Seahawks at Falcons
Draft slotting be damned! Go Falcons! With a heavy dose of Bijan Robinson, an improved pass rush, and a Seattle team crossing the country to play a (Pacific Time) morning game, perhaps they can knock off the Hawks for us. It's the least you could do, Raheem! ROOT FOR: FALCONS Playoff simulator says Falcon win slightly helps Rams. (of course not in upcoming draft)
Bears at Packers
Gotta go with the Packers in this one. If they win, it opens the door for the Rams to retake the top spot in the NFC with a win over Arizona. Packers would still be a half game behind the Rams by virtue of their tie against the Cowboys. ROOT FOR: PACKERS Playoff simulator agrees
Eagles at Chargers
Interconference game makes for an easy choice. Hopefully the Eagles will continue to struggle on offense and fall two games behind us. As a team that owns a head-to-head tiebreaker against us, better to have a bit more space. ROOT FOR: CHARGERSPlayoff simulator agrees
