Gonna be short but not very sweet ‘cause I’m in no mood to sugarcoat anything this morning.
Rams were outcoached by Panthers. McVay made some very questionable play calls, especially in the rain. His team was not ready to play, either.
Shula was unable to make any adjustments that I could see and lost this chess match badly to Panthers staff. I didn’t recognize this D vs Panthers.
Players were badly outplayed, too. Far, far too many Ram players turned in dramatic underperformances vs Panthers.
Too many player mistakes to bother listing although Stafford and Forbes had particularly nightmarish performances.
Three turnovers will cost you a win almost every time.
Bottom line? The above in combination is how the #1 seed team can lose to a 10 1/2 point underdog playing short handed. Sigh…
Rams may well look back at seasons end and see that this very winnable game they lost cost them HFA and all the advantages that entails.
Nothing to do now but look at the film, take away the lessons and then move on.
Color me disgusted.
Yeah, good post.
I hate to call out Stafford, but his 3 Turnovers were very costly, especially the pick six. Add Forbes horrendous play and those two factors are the main reason we lost. Poona and Young's injuries hurt us against the run, contributing to Carolina controlling the clock. We could've overcome Stafford/Forbes bad play had we stopped the run better.
I also think Corum should've been in there on our last drive. Kyren had a couple of lackluster runs before the delay of game and Stafford fumble. Corum was the hot hand.
What is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of their women.
