they do different things and those things they do are both top notch. It would be hard IMO to look to get rid of the guy who is the sack leader, or in the top 2 or 3 (Young). I can see they went with Stewart for a reason, but also I can see getting him because getting to the QB is prime and you can't have enough of those type defenders.....they may not have picked him to be the replacement for Young.
Verse IMO will never be the sack guy that Young is becoming. IMO he can be good for 6-10 sacks a year....Young...he's just getting into the position, he may get you 12-15 sacks a year for a few seasons. Verse does things that allow Young to do his thing, but at the same time that wouldn't happen IF Young didn't have "IT" for getting there.
They both have high motors.....Verse has more time on his contract....IMO I would roll the dice and retain both for as long as possible. The Cap will always go up year to year....if they choose well in this draft at important positions those rookie deals may allow to deal with both Young and Verse going forward.
You also have guys like Lake, Turner, Landman, Curl to look at.....that just on the D side. O has it's own similar issues.
It's a @#$%& having so much talent......LOL.....They really need to make it into something big while it's there to do.
