I am not worried now as Jake McQuaide is a veteran and former all pro. Ward did struggle with blocking plus some of the protection calls. The kicker in Mevis should be more confident than Karty because he only missed one FG in the UFL (63 yards) and he just beat out Rodrigo Blankenship, who was another top kicker in the UFL and an NFL veteran & then he beat out Karty in the competition.
Will Blackburn still require Mevis to wait until ball is down and steady by Evans? If so, then expect the same results.
If not, then why replace Karty?
I just don’t get it.
Do other kickers kick when the ball is not down and not steady? I would think that is a given. Sounds more like a holder thing that he is taking too long to accomplish this. Why does that fall on Blackburn?
