Karty's performance, as I've pointed out often enough, is lack of consistency in the holds, which has led the coach to alter his timing and other "solutions," which over time have compounded and accumulated in his mindset and preparation to the point that it has eroded his performance, just as it has with the three kickers who preceded him. All four have regressed.

Maybe Karty's game has been damaged to the point where he's irredeemable. Maybe you're right. Karty's performance is the bottom line - my take is the text above the bottom line is the problem.
I think McVay really know that the holder is the problem but wants to see if the new kicker proves it. You saw in his interview that he said Karty is not going anywhere. Makes me think the new kicker is here just to prove that Karty is not the problem. At the end of the day....Karty will probably win his job back in Seattle.
