To flip your question: If the holder is the problem, why is McVay bringing in long snappers and kickers to solve it?

Karty's performance, as I've pointed out often enough, is lack of consistency in the holds, which has led the coach to alter his timing and other "solutions," which over time have compounded and accumulated in his mindset and preparation to the point that it has eroded his performance, just as it has with the three kickers who preceded him. All four have regressed.
When Hekker left, our FG and XP performance went with him. Why?
Maybe Karty's game has been damaged to the point where he's irredeemable. Maybe you're right. Karty's performance is the bottom line - my take is the text above the bottom line is the problem.
