There are 4 or so teams that will be ahead of us that are desperate for a QB and we may not have the draft capital to move up.
As of today the Rams hold the 12th and 23rd picks in the 2026 draft [
www.thebiglead.com]. While a lot can change between now and the end of the season (like the Rams dropping all the way to 32

) I'll do this exercise as things stand just to show the possibilities.
Draft pick point values are from [
www.ourlads.com].
The 1st pick in the draft is worth 3,000 points. The 4th is worth 1,800.
The Rams two first round picks are worth a total of 1,960 points (1,200 points for the 12th pick, 760 points for the 23rd).
Based just on this data the Rams could trade up to the 4th pick in the draft and also get a low 3rd round pick back. If the team holding that 4th pick needs to be talked into trading or if other teams are also looking to trade up to #4 then the asking price will be higher than 1,800. But the Rams would definitely be able to make a competitive offer, especially considering that they can include two first round picks in the deal.
To get all the way up to that 1st pick the Rams would have to add in their 2026 second round pick (350 points) and their 2027 first round pick (420 points). (The convention I've seen for future picks: you drop back 1 round and then find the point value for the 16th pick of that round. So the Rams 2027 first round pick is worth the 16th pick in the second round of this year's draft.) Even doing that only gets them to 2,730.
Adding their third round pick (155 points) and the first round pick from 2028 (190 points) get them to 3,075 - enough to make a phone call.
They have to really like a guy to even try to move all the way up to #1 .. but they've done it before.
2026 - both firsts, their second, and their third
2027 - first
2028 - first
