It's McVay's play calling that has every team ready yo make it a close harder than it needs to be game for the Rams.
I've seen McVay run go three and out to start drives way too many time.
McVay had almost no plays in the first half where the Rams receivers weren't not voveres like a blanket on a winter night.
McVay has 40% or less 3 down conversion percentage.
McVay has a horrible red zone success rate.
I'm sure there is more.
I understand being conservative but he needs to spread the ball around the field more.
Ferguson has one pass for 21 yards.
No excuse for trading up and not using him.
Demarcus Robinson should have got more reps when he played for the Rams and there are many others.
McVay is incapable of taking advantage of the fact each team has 53 players in the roster.
it seems like there is a missing sense of urgency with McVay.
They only score when they have to, late in the game. Or when they are up against the clock, like last 2 minutes of the half.
If there is not an outside force creating some urgency, we try to establish the run and often go 3 and out.
It really seems our defense has kept us in most games. It seems like every week in the first half we feel like we should be down by 30, But somehow we're only down by 10.
Rinse and repeat the last 3 years. Not to mention if we lose this week we are 3-3. Sound familiar?
Mcvay mentioned wanting to take what the defense gives him. I wonder if the slow starts are due to him trying to figure out defenses' game-plan on the fly.
