Anybody still pounding the desk for Arch Manning as the #1 overall pick in the coming draft?
Funny. The media who declared him the next great thing, anointing him a college superstar and future NFL superstar BEFORE he ever started a game in college, have (of course) turned into his worst critics. A couple more games where he demonstrates that he has a looooooong way to go in his development before he's even a good college QB, let alone a great one, will soon lead to him being criticized for being a fake. The kid has never put himself on a pedastal that I'm aware of. It's the media, fans, and podcasters.
The rare voices (before the season started) that said maybe we ought to pump the brakes, were shouted down as cranks and negative nannies.
There's a lot of things in this world that somebody as old as me has learned to be more than skeptical about. In fact, it has gone so far that it is probably the better bet to assume that the opposite is true from whatever the echo chamber of posters, media, and every fan with a web cam and a fake background who start a podcast proclaim as fact.
