Ahhh back to regular season reports ... thanks all for reading.
I think a thing to note is that the Texans are soundly coached, and talented. By the end of this year they will likely be a force to be reckoned with. We will as well, but it's pretty fortunate that their rookies are still being broken in when we were shaking the rust off.
The Great1) Landman. The whole thing. The game he played, the fact that we wanted him and got him in the offseason, that he runs the defense ... and the awareness to punch a ball out at that precise moment. Do we have a pro bowl ILB? He was NFC D player of the week, so maybe?
2) Puka's ironman performance. I wa saying on another thread that suggested he was top 5 or top 3 ... that the reason this is the case is that he doesn't ever put up a dud. Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson may have 250 yard games ... but they'll also get shut completely down sometimes. Puka has not bee stopped by my recalled memories.
3) Overall defensive intensity ... highlighted by Durant's INT and overall tackling/rallying to the ball.
4) Fourth and goal call plus Kyren's vision.
5) No TDs allowed.
The Good6) Evans punting ... lord what a weapon to pin someone in the 5 multiple times.
7) Devante making some sweet hands plays and seeing glimpses of chemistry with back shoulders. IMO Adams is the best back shoulder receiver I've ever seen.
8) The Davis Allen TD throw ... and catch to some extent ... but the timing was flawless.
9) How good is it having AJ not out?
10) I really thought coverage on the back end was tight.
11) Josiah Stewart causing some havoc.
The Bad12) The holding calls on the Whit plays ...
13) The lack of offensive rhythm ...
14) 1 target for Tutu?
15) Injuries to both guards? How bad?
16) Looked bad for us until Landman's Tyson impression.
17) the TE issue needs fixing soon ... Higbee isn't his usual self and Ferguson is not up to speed yet.
College18) I'm searching for QB and CB, and there are plenty of both IMO. Also keeping an eye on OT.
19) These QBs have entered the chat ... Sawyer Robertson on Baylor, Dylan Lonergan on BC, and Sam Pribula on Mizzou (though he's the furthest down, the other two are legit contenders to take college ball by storm.
20) My teams hiding in plain sight are Indiana and Illinois. Both have QBs, good coaching, playmakers, and defense.
21) Note, best CB tandem is in Washington I think (Prysock and Tacario Davis), and at Safety I'd say SMU (Moses and Nwokobia).
Okay I'll leave it light for the first one ... questions and comments welcome as always ...
