I thought this would be McVay's preferred route but I don't know who any realistic targets would be, assuming the trade happens in 2026.
Joe Burrow? If the Bengals traded Burrow after the 2025 season they would take on over $91M in dead cap and they only have $51.6M in cap space.
Trevor Lawrence? The Jags would get hit with $116.5M in dead money with only $15.3M in cap space in 2026.
Justin Herbert? $96.8M in dead money. The Chargers do have $99.5M in cap space in 2026 but it remains to be seen if the Chargers would do this. He also might not be someone McVay is interested in.
Beyond these three who could you see the Rams going after?
Not the name most want to hear but McVay does have a history with Cousins. Could he be a possibility? He would be cheap enough and would be the vet that McVay might see something in and think he can revive his career.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
