Was the flats of Arkansas and cotton fields, right up to the Miss River. I think it was worse than Florida because there NEVER was a breeze. In August 1987, we did a deployment to Burns Flat, Oklahoma (Far West Ok) It was BRUUUUTALLY muggy and around 92 when we boarded the C-130. Sat in that uninsulated plane and burned up more till we took off. When we walked off the plane in Oklahoma. It was SOOOO much cooler! LOL It was actually 105 but with ZERO humidity. The air was almost TOO dry. Once there for a bit, it still seemed hot. But at night, the air was so nice.
