Stafford and Tutu were fine when Kupp and Puka were out.
I think it's more about McVay's play calls and Staffordz blankeys, which was Kupp for a few years, now Puka.
McVay had O'line issues for a lot of the year and one band aid was to run quick throw plays. So he went with his goto guys, not deep throws to Tutu.
Tutu did start to get his share towards the end of the year with some deep crossing routes. Would love to see way more of those.
I don't see any issue with catching passes from another QB on the offseason. Stafford and Tutu can work on their timing during preseason practice. It's all good.
I'm hopeful we finally see, and use him, like a light version of Tyreek Hill. He should get their worst corner covering him with Puka and Devante commanding attention.
I don't think there is an "issue" per se, and I do think it's great that he is working out like that. I just was saying that I wish he was working more with Stafford one on one like he is doing with Jackson.
Agreed on the "McVay's play calls" not helping Tutu but it still doesn't change the point that it would be nice if the "chemistry" between Stafford and Tutu was stronger. Working with Jackson doesn't improve that "chemistry" one bit.
Also agree on Stafford's "security blanket" syndrome! lol Now with Kupp gone, it's even more important for Tutu and Stafford to build that "chemistry" together.
This might be Tutu's best chance to ever achieve his goals and reach his highest potential. I hope we see some vids or read some articles about Tutu and Stafford doing something together before the season starts.
"Working on their timing during preseason practice" will help for sure but some good old one on ones like he is doing with Jackson would be even more beneficial, don't ya think? A couple of one on ones with Stafford would get Tutu more balls/reps than he would get all preseason. Those practice reps are important too but both reps would be even better!
I'll be rooting for Tutu.
My bigger concern is that McVay still won't use him correctly or as often as he could. lol
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
