Something seemed off between Stafford and Tutu the last few years timing wise.
I have noticed that as well. I wonder if it's because Atwell was getting most of his reps with the second string and so didn't really get a lot of opportunities to work with Stafford in camp.
My hope for this season: Atwell enters camp as the WR3 and gets enough work with Stafford that the two of them can develop a connection. Atwell's speed is unique on this team and it would be so good if he and Stafford could connect deep on a regular basis.
I am glad to hear he is working hard to stay in shape but his chances of success are much more dependent on his ability to "connect" with Stafford, not Jackson.
I think you are correct AlbaNY. His taking those second string reps with the backup QB's didn't help build his "timing/connection" with Stafford. All good QB/WR combos have a special connection and can seem to read each others minds and know exactly what route to run and what type pass to throw. Stafford and Tutu lack that "connection".
I really hope Tutu does well because I do think he can be a legit weapon but it will take a "special" connection/bond with his QB as well as the HC using him better. Working out with Jackson who is not exactly known for his passing isn't going to help him that much.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
