Would we trade Higbee?
Per Rams Wire
The Rams have already said Tyler Higbee will be back this year and he’s now healthy after undergoing surgery on his knee and shoulder last offseason, but might they consider moving him? He has an $8.8 million cap hit and will be a free agent next offseason, so his long-term outlook is murky – especially being 32 years old and with his replacement already on the roster.
Trading Higbee would save the Rams $6.7 million in cap room this year, but he’s such an integral part of the offense and locker room that it’s hard to imagine him being moved before the season. Still, it can’t be ruled out.
The Rams never close the door on anything and a trade involving a tight end shouldn’t surprise anyone, especially if the Dolphins are motivated to find a replacement for Smith. Considering the Rams and Dolphins already had talks about Ramsey, it’s reasonable to think they might’ve talked about a tight end deal, too.
