That would've really burned you up.
And screw the Saints. Rams earned that W.
Sorry DeaconDan..I don't agree and we can have our difference in opinion
The Chiefs were the better team in the AFC Championship and a ridiculous professional football player lined up offsides on the most important play of that game.
The Chiefs were better than the Patriots that year (only by a hair but they were the better team). (DL Ward ruined the Chiefs a trip to the SB.) It was an unacceptable excuse on every level. One of, if not the the worst AFC Championship human error mistakes of all time.
In the 2018 AFC Championship Game between the Chiefs and Patriots, Chiefs linebacker Dee Ford was flagged for lining up offsides late in the fourth quarter. The penalty negated a potential game-winning interception by Charvarius Ward, effectively giving the Patriots another chance. The Patriots ultimately won the game in overtime.
If Ward lines up on the correct line of scrimmage, the Chiefs win the AFC Championship game...
The Rams were gifted one the most horrible non--calls (OBVIOUS PASS Interference) in the history of the NFL playoffs.
The Rams didn't deserve to be in the SB that year. The Patriots didn't deserve to be in the SB that year.
Nobody will convince me that Chiefs and Saints were the 2 most deserving teams that season to meet in the Super Bowl.
In my entire life following the NFL the 2 teams that made it to the big dance didn't deserve to be there. I still believe the Chiefs and Saints should've represented that Super Bowl and nothing will change my mind.
Maybe someone on this board can refresh my memory that there were other AFC and NFC Championship games that had the wrong teams advance. I'm curious to know.
