Maybe it’s just me but I would have loved to have dove into that pool and just discuss all the possibilities and possible repercussions of trading up… especially for TMac and what that could have meant. That would have been a lot of fun to speculate and try to glean some meaning from it.
But from that we learn that the Rams will sometimes try to trade up with the understanding that they will likely be shot down. Much like me when I was talking to a blonde who was out of my league at a bar in 1996. Nonetheless, I like that strategy because there’s no harm in trying and if they succeed then good for them.
I do think the Rams really like Ferguson and I think the tape doesn’t lie. But would they have gone with someone else and also been happy? I mean it was said they tried to get Gillotte but seemed genuinely happy to get Stewart. But I think it’s most plausible that Ferguson was their guy. Would have been some sprained eyebrows if he was drafted at 26.
No matter what I am stoked about the picks and can’t wait to see them on the field. And I think Ferguson could find a nice role in this offense and shine.
