IF the game is well-officiated AND there are no players taken out of the game by dirty hits, Rams win decisively.
By then Limmer might be ready at center to provide beef in the middle. Our D line overall has improved; same, hopefully, for the ILB positions. Speights has a year of experience and now has a running mate - maybe. We'll know more after camp.
I look forward to seeing how the Davante/Stafford combo plays against opponents Davante has faced before.
I think we rattle Goff early and it'll show late in the game, and Stafford will want this voctory deep in his gut, despite his usual "just another game," and "fond memories of my time in Detroit" class narrative. I thionk he'll be driven to win this one and the vibe will be picked up by his teammates. He won't have to say much - but watch the way he comes out and plays.
I hope McVay is smart enough to play solid football and not get too cute against Detroit. There are times to outsmart your opponent, and times you need to stand up, mano a mano, and kick a bully's ass.
I used to be a Dan Quinn fan but now I'm not. He countenances, excuses, and encourages dirty football - let's just call him a dirty coach. I don't like dirty coaches. I'd like to see him get his from a hard-hitting and fired up Ram team that plays his guys
clean - and sends them to the ice baths and whirlpools banged up, bruised, walking wounded and feeling it for the rest of their regular season. Exception: I'd like to see Kerby Joseph sandwiched between two of our receivers and leave with broken ribs from a clean hit - irony and poetic justice. No permanent injury, just one that takes a long, and very painful, time to heal.
