Sometimes I just need things spelled out easily for me. This makes sense

Why can't rams renegotiate his contract?
I think that we're talking about more than just money.
If the Rams do as expected and draft/acquire a top-tier WR this off-season to pair up with Puka, you would think that that would push Kupp into the 3rd WR role. But the problem with that, is that I'm pretty sure that McVay has a much cheaper (even if Kupp renegotiates) Whittington pegged for that role next season (not sure Robinson is coming back). He (Whittington) needs to play and I think that McVay intends to give him the reps over Kupp.
I'm pretty sure that McVay has communicated that to him (Kupp).
