It's amazing to me that that record has not been broken since 1951. Given all the rules that favor the quarterback and most teams pass first. It's one of the most amazing records of all time still standing.

I think you are on to something, if the Eagles don't win it, there very well may be some sour grapes by Barkley. Frankly, I am surprised they did not play him. I fully expected Barkley to play and then sit him in the 3rd quarter or whenever he got it.
Glad Dickerson still has the record. It will be hard for Barkley to have another similar season, and Henry is close to the end, so we may be safe.
Unfortunately, once the NFL eventually expands to 18 games, it very well may be in jeopardy.
But in terms of old NFL records...we have a few more (in reverse order of oldest):
-Flipper Anderson with 336 receiving yards in a game in 1989
-Dickerson with 248 rushing yards in a playoff game in 1986
And last, and most impressive, especially considering the time and where the NFL is now, Norm Van Brocklin with 554 passing yards in a game in 1951!!!
Never discussed, but in my opinion as good as any.
GO RAMS!!!
