It is really about matchups
The Rams do not matchup well with Philly either offensively or defensively IMO
The Rams do matchup well with the Lions and Viking's defenses
Let's say everything stays the same (although looking at this there is a possibility that the Vikings could hold the number one seed if they win out... how crazy is that) I mean who is afraid of playing the Vikings? I know I'm not
But for now
1) Lions (bye)
7) Wash v 2)Eagles
6)GB v 3)Tampa
5)Vikings v 4)Rams
Divisional Round could look something like this:
4) Rams @ 1) Lions
3) Tampa @ 2) Philly Tampa has beaten Philly bad twice now in their last two meetings and Tampa is getting healthy
I sure hope this scenario you outlined pans out. Good catch w Tampa. Honestly, I have very little confidence the Rams can beat Philly at Lincoln Financial.
Yes, match ups DO matter. Remember, in the 2021 playoffs, SF did our dirty work by going up to Lambeau and taking out the Pack. If that doesn't happen, there is a very good chance we don't win the SB as we were very unlikely to go up there in January and get a W (see Exhibit A: 2020 playoffs).
