When the Center is seeking another opponent down field it sends a message to the opponent.
When a player has a linebacker, whether a guard or center (whoever is uncovered) it is about timing...you want, in zone blocking, the players working
together, including the tight end.
What you don't want is any player, center, guard, or tackle piercing the line of scrimmage too soon, firing out in a hurry to get a linebacker and leaving
a gap for a defensive tackle to penetrate.
this is an example---the center is athletic and attacks rather than shuffle his feet and THEN decide what to do. Here he is in such a hurry to get upfield he does not give a stiff arm to help the RG, sometimes you have to wait a fraction of a second and THEN go

here is examples of how it should be done---timing is what matters as much as athleticism for a center, technique, smarts, help
