Seems most of these grades measure players taken vs. where they were projected to go. The sheer number of players the rams got doesn't seem to get factored into the grade.

It's a waste of time to "grade" or "rank" anyone before they even played a single snap in the NFL and even then it can take 2-3 years before you can accurately "judge" anything.

Take these things with a grain of salt because that's about all they are worth! beer cheer smiley

Agree that the grades are generally meaningless. But my point is that the grading system only appears to measure player selection vs. perceived value. That is, they measure only what a team did with the picks it had -- not its class as a whole.

If a team had just five picks and all were perceived to have good "value," they get an A- or a B+. The Rams were said to have had a number of players of good value (or even a "steal" in the case of Tomlinson), and a couple of "reaches". And most of the grades were based on such evaluations. But it seems these grades don't account for the sheer number of players the Rams got, which was significant. If I'm grading a draft, that would be a very important factor in my grading system.

I get what you are saying my friend! beer cheer smiley

My problem is that at my age I have seen the words "steal", "great value" too many times where they ended up failing and there was a reason some of these players were able to be "stolen" in the first place. lol

Also, the words "steal" and "great value" are all opinion based and not factual.

IMO, grading drafts and players drafted is like playing Fantasy Football. It's fun for conversation sake but is it really worth all that time people put into it? lol

IMO, the Draft is such a HUGE crap shoot from the very first pick to the very last! There are no guarantees no matter where you were picked!

My Mother always said "The Draft is like a box a chocolates! You never know what you are going to get"! thumbs up smiley

#HelmetHornsMatter

“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.

“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood

Grading draft picks before they even suit up is silly
