I think how you look at it will define your opinion or point of view.
Like you, I think we have one of the best head coaches and football orgs. Having a losing season like we did is certainly an outlier compared to the team's record under McVay. Like you and many others here, I believe that in 2024 we'll be much better than this past season, (I'm not so sure about 2023 but I tend towards pessimisim). Also, no one could argue against that we had an outlier of many OLine injuries. It sounds like it was record setting. I certainly agree with Jim Y's pov that we would have won more games if we just had an average amt. of injuries. I'm not so sure that we'd made the playoffs.
OTOH, there were more problems than just a damaged OLine. We were below average in other critical categories. McVay even called his season's work a "professional failure." That's stunning because I would have never said that about him. I'm willing to bet that not a single fan on this site would call McVay's season a "professional failure." I would call bs on anybody who said that, cept McVay himself. Certainly poor coaching is going to affect a team's W/L record.
I don't think there's really a right or wrong answer to this, only different perspectives.
