Its a journey you and your family are on. But sounds like things will be brighter. I went thru prostate surgery in January of 21. Stage 2. Basically 3 ways to go. Surgery and there are 2-3 different surgery's a doctor can perform. I was lucky to find a doctor who was skilled and trained at the mayo clinic. Out in Oregon that's a great thing. They did what they called nerve sparing surgery ( Robotic). What that means is everything still works as before in time if ya get my drift
. I was lucky I didn't drip or need depends. Some guys have to wear them for a while. I was dry from day one which was a blessing. They did micro surgery on me not as invasive. It all comes down to the skill of the surgeon. I chose it over radiation. They told me with radiation some times surgery is out in the future. I chose surgery for that reason. And use radiation as a back up if it returns in the future. But so far so good after a couple years. I got it at 63. My grand dad had it and my father. I thought there would be a chance in my 70's. Ya never know. Thank you for what you do .
