I’m not sold on Bruss just yet. He disappointed in camp BEFORE the injury. Definitely wasn’t gonna be a 1st year starter.
The coach/scout that jumped in the pool after the Bruss pick had greatly overrated the kid.
Although I agree that Bruss has something to prove, is it fair to say that he disappointed last year? Admittedly, I wasn't impressed with him being put on skates during the pre-season, but it appeared to me that Shelton just flat-out beat him in competition. He (Shelton) went on to be one of the OL's better players (not saying a whole lot there).
More than anything, I guess I like the idea of some guys seeing and opportunity and seizing it as opposed to just ceding it to a higher drafted player or FA acquisition. And who knows, if we re-sign Shelton, hopefully Bruss might adopt the same attitude.
Bruss has to win me over. I hope he does, obviously. But at this point he’s looking like a blown pick by a Ram team that could ill afford a bad pick, especially on their OL.
