I agree in general with BPA in the Draft, especially in the top couple rounds. But I also believe in BPA from among your top 5 or 6 needs.
For example, in 2023 I would not draft a QB, RB, WR or ILB with their 2nd round pick. Pretty much anything else? On the table. We all see the clear needs/holes at edge rusher and on the OL. But in your example, safety is hardly set in stone. If they could add an A- safety at the top of the 2nd round I think you do it.
Same with positions like CB or TE.
100% agree. BPA at position of need.
I would shake my head if they drafted any of the 4 you mentioned at #2.
We could address any of the other positions and theoretically see an upgrade.
