First, Snead is gonna strain our cap to fill holes via trade or FA way before the draft. He does this wherever he can so that he’s not under the gun when he picks to fill a need.
I look for serious restructuring to make this strategy possible.
Once that’s done as much as possible Snead will be drafting BPA’s based on their own board. Determining BPA could come down to hairsplitting with an eye to how deep given positions are in thus particular draft.
Don’t be surprised to see Snead moving both up and down as opportunities present themselves. He does it every year to the point it’s practically a trademark.
Here are Rams top needs that will be addressed via trade, FA, and then later the draft.
Edge (by far Rams highest priority. Could be FA, trade, or draft. Burns?)
CB (FA or draft. Or both?)
OL (probably an OG/OC if they wait until draft)
TE (probably draft and they might take 2)
RB (personally hope it’s draft and around round 5)
Safety (Might draft 2. This is a current big need)
Backup QB (might be both FA and draft)
The exact draft priority order will change based upon acquisitions via trade and/or FA, of course. Mocks will be much easier after these preliminary things are addressed.
So, Leo, be prepared to NOT see an OL drafted at #36 depending on what Snead can pull out of his hat (and that’s assuming that Snead hasn’t already traded away his 2nd and/or 3rd). Lol.
