And he'll get the itch. I wanna guess that he's probably taking more time to collaborate with the Rams on how to prevent this in the future. Better assistants who will take more of the day to day grind away. I think Mcvay WANTS to give up control in an ideal world but can't because at the end of the day HE gets judged on wins and losses. So he takes fate into his own hands. Wonder if Bruce Arians would come hang out and do some light work? Or someone of the sort.
I don't think he wants to give up control. And that's what part of the problem could be. He knows he needs to... but he doesn't want to and he doesn't know how to. How can he keep it and give it up at the same time? He can't. But he can't do it all either. I know that for me, in my own personal life, if I want something done to MY standards and in the way I want it done... then I have to do it myself 'cause nobody else in my circle can or would do it the way I want it done. Running my household isn't even in the same stratosphere as McVay and what HE has to deal with as a Head Coach, but I can relate to how hard it might be for him to step back and trust others to do a certain thing well and in the way HE would do it. I'm sure there are others here who can relate to that.
