Man...you're taking me back 21.
A couple of things:
1) Wow! USC had quite a run with the RB's back then. I was born in 1970, so I became "conscious" of football around 1975-76. I thought that Ricky Bell, Charles White, and Marcus Allen were "it." It was awhile before I came to know that Sam Cunningham and OJ Simpson had set the standard before them.
2) (LOL!) No 11-personnel...no X, Y, or slot receivers...no motion or jet sweeps...no QB in shotgun formation. Just "my big man vs. your big man" football in its purest form.
