I'm pretty doubtful about that. He's about as good as he's ever going to be. He has "enough" arm, and is pretty accurate, and runs pretty good, but its his moxie that makes him what he is. Otherwise, talent level wise, I see him as a mid-level starting NFL QB along the lines of Tua or Cousins. If thoose two had more urgency and heart, they'd be Baker Mayfield.

So, I guess that's why the Bucs are hesitating going all in for the biggest bucks and longer term deal for Mayfield. If I'm the Bucs, assuming they aren't convinced, but are opening to see what happens this year, I franchise him at the end of the year if they like what they see and do it again if necessary. If he doesn't like it.... too bad. He's not going to turn down $47 mil and then probably $50 mil.

this movie is expected to bring in 875 million dollars , just this opening weekend alone

hard for me to rate this film

as a life long Spider-man "comic book" fan , I give it like a 7/10

but as a Tom Holland Spider-man movie , I would give it a higher rating , this IS probably the best of the Tom Holland Spiderman 4 movies , I'm just not sure if this is my favorite of the 4 Tom Holland movies

this is a little different film then I was expecting , I mean , I pretty much knew what the film was going to be about , a little older Peter Parker having to deal with the after affects of No Way Home

and with Destin Daniel Cretton as the director , who also directed Marvels Shang Chi , I thought I knew what the tone was going to be , but I was wrong , this is a much different film then Chang Chi , both in look and feel

thing with Marvel lately , alot of their films , well , have become kinda the same thing

but this is a different film all together , so I give them a lot of credit

I'll be curious to see what younger audience goers think of it , as it is a much more adult , and somber then any of the other Spider-man films , and it doesn't have that classic Spider-man villain ,

not a lot of humor in it , I was surprised

I thought Jon Bernthal was great , I thought everyone was great , seeing Hulk , Hulk out was also fun , but it felt like little more then fan service

so , I think over all , as a Spider-man movie , I'll give it a 9/10

this is a little more grown up Spider-man movie then we have seen before

one of the great things about the movie , we see Spider-man as Spider-man ALOT in this move , he spends alot of time in the suit , and in his mask , , we probably see him more in costume then out , and his costume , has never looked so good , that was a cool looking Spider-man

While I love it as a Dodger fan, I believe most baseball fans want to see a level playing field that a NFL style salary cap would bring. LOS ANGELES – The grass baked under the blistering sun, as the air was thick with the smell of competition.

Day 6 of Rams Training Camp continued to show why it is a proving ground.

Everywhere you look, competition resides––wide receivers vs. cornerbacks. Old heads vs. young bucks. Stafford vs. everybody.

Here's how it went down:

Davante Adams put on a clinic. What's been a good camp turned into a great one Saturday. Adams released off the line like he'd been shot out of a cannon, reliable in short-yardage, dangerous on slants. But the money shot? A 10-yard fade in the end zone, Stafford placing the ball perfectly over Trent McDuffie's head and into Adams' waiting hands. That's not a pass. That's a painting.

The rookies keep cooking. CJ Daniels hauled in multiple highlight-reel grabs, most from Stetson Bennett with the second-team offense. But his best came on a crossing route in the end zone when Ty Simpson dropped a pass just over a defender—high enough to clear the first man, low enough to keep Daniels from getting leveled by the second.

Rookie-to-rookie. Connection. Continuation.

Kyren Williams sees it every day.

"I think in the NFL it's hard to be consistent day in and day out, especially being a rookie," Williams said. "I think they both show up each and every single day ready to work, and we've only seen great things from them."

Mario Williams woke up. Quiet camp? Not anymore. Williams made a statement on Day 6—multiple receptions all over the field, including a diving catch on a scramble drill from Bennett that brought applause from the crowd at LMU. The man was flying.

Stafford's brain is different. The no-look passes keep coming. The intuition? Unreal. Stafford had a checkdown available to Blake Corum but turned it down—turned his head, looked off the defense, and fired a no-look dart to Adams coming across the field. Then he sniffed out a blitz, didn't even bother with the play-action motion, and got it out to Adams before the rush could breathe. The man sees ghosts. And then he throws through them.

Blake Corum is leaner. Meaner. Faster. Kyren Williams noticed.

"I would say he's a lot leaner for sure, he looks a lot more explosive," Williams said.

And it showed. Multiple occasions, Corum went untouched in the backfield before reaching the second level. Credit to his speed. Credit to the offensive line. Credit to the work.

Myles Garrett rested. Saturday was the second consecutive day off for the defensive end. Per a team spokesperson, it was a scheduled rest day. The alien gets time to recharge.

Emmanuel Forbes Jr. brought the juice. The wiry cornerback knocked the ball loose from Puka Nacua's grasp for a forced fumble. He nearly had an interception, too—it went through his hands on a Stafford pass placed too high for the intended receiver. Close. But close counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. And training camp.

Cam Lampkin brought the physicality. A physical pass breakup on a Bennett pass intended for Konata Mumpfield near the sideline. The secondary is hitting. And they're not apologizing for it.

Josaiah Stewart swatted one. Coming off a stunt, the outside linebacker got his arm up and broke up a Stafford pass at the line of scrimmage. Big man. Bigger hands. Biggest impact.

Trent McDuffie and Nate Landman brought the pressure. The blitz was there. The sack was coming. But McDuffie had to pull up—stop in his tracks—because of the red no-contact jersey Stafford wears in practice. The quarterback is protected. The defense is hungry. The tension is real.

Kam Curl is the old head now. Seven years in. Seven training camps.

"This is my seventh one," Curl said. "You don't really get used to it. It's always hard, so you always got to push through it."

He remembers being the young guy. Now he's the guy with the most experience in the back end.

"I remember being the young guy, now I'm the guy with the most experience. They be trying to call me 'unc,' but I'm not even that old," Curl said.

His philosophy? Simple.

"If you do the right thing, guys will follow, and then you bring them up with you. Don't just try to do it by yourself," Curl said.

Kyren Williams is downloading data to his feet. Before practice even starts, after the drive-thru, he's out there barefoot on the ground, going through the steps.

"I call it downloading the data to my feet," Williams said. "Just being able to feel what it feels like being on right and left."

He honed in this offseason. One thing. One focus.

"I always try to be the most versatile I can," Williams said. "Doing a lot of different workouts, a lot of different drills—it's cool and all. But just being able to focus on what it is I do at a high level? That was fun."

And the relationship with Corum? Growing.

"Blake recently had a baby girl," Williams said. "I think it's so cool when he shows me pictures or videos of Zara. I don't think you would show somebody that if you didn't really care for them."

The secondary is locked in. Curl, Quentin Lake, Jaylen McCollough, Kam Kinchens—third year together.

"We know each other's nonverbal cues," Curl said. "That's just going to make us play faster on Sundays."

And the new blood? Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson brought Super Bowl experience from Kansas City. The room is listening.

"Same thing Q said—just their mindset, how to get there and then when they're there," Curl said. "That's what we try to copy from them."

Sean McVay's message? Build the callus.

"He keeps reiterating—we can't win a Super Bowl today," Curl said. "So just building that callus for the season, getting together as a team, so when we do play real football, we can hit the ground running."

Aaron Donald may return. No decision is imminent until the Rams return to Woodland Hills after camp.

"Things are going in the right direction and if there's an arrow it's trending upwards," McVay said.

With or without Donald, the Rams are the prohibitive favorites to win the Super Bowl.

The work, though? That's happening now.

One day at a time. One practice at a time. One rep at a time.

"We can't win a Super Bowl today," Curl said. "So the work got to be put in."

And at LMU on Day 6, the work continued.

The receivers cooked. The corners punched back. The quarterbacks dealt. The rookies rose.

Training camp is hard. It's always hard. But that's the point.

There has naturally been a good deal of attention on Los Angeles Rams rookie quarterback Ty Simpson throughout the early portion of training camp. Rams fans want to see what the controversial No. 13 overall pick looks like after an underwhelming showing in OTAs.

Recent results have been positive. Friday's practice was Simpson's best session yet.

"Today was the most comfortable rookie QB Ty Simpson has looked so far," said Rams beat writer Stu Jackson in a social media post. "Mechanically, his release looked quicker. His best throw of the day was on a deep completion to TE Terrance Ferguson during 11-on-11."

That's encouraging news for those anxiously awaiting signs of progress from the young first-round QB.

Simpson's steady progress should put Rams fans at ease

While the scrutiny began before Simpson could even get his feet wet in OTAs, it's what the Rams asked for by reaching for a quarterback who had one year of college experience and was ranked on most big boards as a late first-round pick at best.

That's not an indictment of Simpson or of the pick. It's just the reality of the situation, and why both Simpson and the Rams were thrust immediately under the microscope.

It's also fair for fans to want some sort of vindication of Simpson's promise; the team didn't draft him to contribute now, but in a way that makes proving his potential even more critical.

That Simpson is already making strides in practice is an outstanding sign. Not only has he just dipped his toes into life as a pro, he doesn't have much football experience, period, after a single season starting at Alabama.

Training camp only started on July 25, and he hasn't even had all that many reps to work with. Kid appears to be a fast learner.

That said, the Rams have called on Stetson Bennett, not Simpson, to lead second-team drills and step in with the first-stringers on Matthew Stafford's rest days. Thus far, at least, all signs point to Bennett as the frontrunner in the QB2 race.

And that's okay. Even if, as it seems now, Simpson will be the designated QB3 to begin the year, getting some positive feedback on his development should let LA faithful rest a little easier.

It's only a bonus that his top highlight came with Ferguson, a young Horns pass-catcher the offense is counting on for a sophomore leap. That Simpson-Ferguson connection is something we may see a lot of in years to come.

All the Rams should want to see from Simpson this summer is enough promise to suggest he is indeed the future franchise quarterback he was drafted to be. Every baby step in the right direction is worth celebrating.

You know that feeling when your team cashes in every shiny first-round pick like it’s poker night in Vegas… and somehow you’re still sitting at the big table years later?
That’s the Los Angeles Rams era in a nutshell.
From the outside, the Rams’ whole identity got boiled down to one phrase: “F them picks.” And sure, it was real. They pushed chips in. They traded first-rounders for proven stars. They chased a title like it was the only acceptable outcome.
They got it, too. The Super Bowl LVI run and that ring will live forever.
But here’s the part that doesn’t get enough respect, even from people who watched it happen: the Rams didn’t survive the all-in years because they were reckless geniuses. They survived because they built a second engine underneath the first one.
Their real edge was the ability to reload without first-rounders.
Not rebuild. Reload.
That’s a huge difference in the NFL, where most “all-in” teams either win and crash or don’t win and crash harder. The Rams had the crash part, sure. They hit the injury wall in 2022 and the season went sideways. But the organization didn’t fold into a three-year teardown. It pivoted, it coached, it drafted, and it found contributors in the places that keep a roster alive when you’re not picking in the top 20.
Start with the most obvious example: Cooper Kupp.
Kupp wasn’t a first-round savior. He was a third-round pick out of Eastern Washington in 2017, and he turned into the kind of player that changes what your offense can be. When he hit his peak, it wasn’t just “nice story, small-school guy made good.” He became the entire personality of the passing game. He won NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2021 and took home Super Bowl LVI MVP. That’s not a bonus hit. That’s a franchise-altering outcome from Day 2.
And Kupp is also the perfect symbol of what the Rams actually do well: identify a role, develop the player, and then expand the role until it breaks defenses.
That theme keeps popping up.
Jordan Fuller is another clean example. Sixth-round pick in 2020. Not a flashy name on draft weekend, not a player casual fans were begging for. But he stepped into a defense that needed smart, reliable football players, and he played meaningful snaps early. That’s the kind of roster math that matters when you’re paying top-of-market money to stars and you’ve spent premium picks on trades.
Ernest Jones fits the same blueprint. Third-round pick in 2021, and he wasn’t drafted to be a “someday” linebacker. The Rams needed him to be ready, and he was. When you can get real starter-level play from the middle rounds, it changes your entire cap and roster equation. It lets you keep the expensive pillars while still fielding a functional, fast, physical defense.
Now zoom out from individual hits and look at the architecture.
The Rams under Sean McVay and Les Snead have been operating like a team that expects to contend, not a team that hopes to contend. That sounds like a cliché until you see how it shows up in decisions.
They traded first-rounders because they trusted their ability to find players later.
They trusted compensatory picks to keep the pipeline moving.
They trusted coaching development to turn “nice depth” into “oh, that guy can play.”
And most importantly, they trusted their culture to absorb turnover without losing the plot.
That’s why the post-title reset didn’t have to become a full-on rebuild.
After the Super Bowl, the roster churn was real. That’s the cost of doing business when you go all-in and pay stars. The league catches up. Bodies break down. Contracts bite. You lose veterans. You can feel the hangover.
A lot of teams respond to that by tearing the whole thing down and calling it “being responsible.” The Rams didn’t.
They leaned into the young core and let it breathe.
By 2023 and into 2024, you could see the outline of the next wave even without pretending it was the same roster as the championship team. Puka Nacua arrived and immediately looked like a problem for defenses. Kyren Williams gave the offense real juice in the backfield. On defense, the rookie class headlined by Kobie Turner and Byron Young brought life and pass-rush energy when the unit needed it badly.
That’s not a coincidence. That’s the system working.
Because the Rams weren’t trying to replace every star with another star. They were trying to build a roster where stars can still be stars.
That’s the difference between a team that’s “top heavy” and a team that’s actually constructed to survive.
And yes, coaching is the secret sauce here. McVay gets the headlines, but the organization’s ability to teach, simplify, and then expand responsibilities is what keeps the machine running. The Rams have consistently asked young players to contribute, not just learn. That accelerates development. It also reveals who can handle it.
When you trade away first-rounders, you’re basically betting that your margin work will be elite. Your scouting has to hit. Your development has to hit. Your staff has to get players ready fast. Your locker room has to keep standards high even when the names change.
The Rams have done that well enough to avoid the NFL’s most dreaded word.
Irrelevance.
So if you’re a Rams fan who lived through the move, the rise, the all-in trades, the parade, the hangover, and then the young guys showing up like they belonged… you already know what the real flex is.
It wasn’t just trading picks to win a Super Bowl.
It was trading picks and still having picks, still finding players, still building the next version before the old one even stopped echoing.
That’s not luck. That’s an edge.

LONG time ago we discussed genealogy and I semi-joked that every person that's ever delved into genealogy has told me they were related to Queen Elizabeth. Bit of an exaggeration but. you'd be surprised... not much of an exaggeration. Which leads me too....

I have a cousin who got into genealogy... a little. She was NOT very scientific about it. Anyway - in group text with family, (I have a HUGE family... well over 300 living relatives just on my Dads side and that many also on my Mom's side).......she started telling all us relatives who she, (and we), were related too..... wellllllllll....

You can't name a famous Italian she didn't say we were not related too. ALL of them. :laughing. Michelangelo, Galileo, Frank Sinatra, several Popes, Da Vinci.....AND.. she firmly believed this. Got furious with you if you doubted her. And I'm talking direct lineage here... NOT just that we inhabited the same planet.

I've never stumbled across anyone even semi-famous in my family history. I don't expect to do so with this DNA test but then... that's not why I'm taking it. LOS ANGELES -- "Well, I think repetition is the mother of learning," Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said after the team's sixth day of training camp.

That philosophy was on full display as the Rams held their first padded practice of camp, with players embracing what many described as the return of "real football."

From top to bottom, the energy and attention to detail were evident. Every position group attacked drills with purpose, as coaches emphasized technique and execution while players competed with increased physicality.

Cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr. and the rest of the secondary focused on precise footwork, preparing to change direction quickly while defending routes. Running backs Blake Corum and Kyren Williams led their group through ball-security drills, protecting the football while tight ends coach Scott Huff, game management coordinator and assistant tight ends coach Dan Shamash, and vice president of facilities and equipment Brendan Burger tried to punch it loose. Meanwhile, wide receivers Puka Nacua and Jordan Whittington showcased crisp route-running, smooth hands and impressive body control along the sideline, drawing cheers from the fans in attendance.

Veteran tight end Tyler Higbee, who is entering his 11th NFL season after re-signing with the Rams on a two-year deal during the offseason, also drew praise from McVay.

"Tyler is, I mean, you look at it, he's the greatest tight end in Rams history," McVay said.

Higbee has experienced every phase of the Rams' recent history, from championship seasons to roster turnover, and has established himself as one of the team's steady veteran leaders. His confidence is balanced by a willingness to continue improving, something he believes defines the culture of this year's team.

One week into training camp, Higbee said the offense still has plenty of work to do despite the lofty expectations surrounding the Rams entering the season.

"We expect to be great," Higbee said. "So coming in and working, nobody's complacent. Even after having some success last year, we want to be better."

He added, "Everybody just comes ready to work."

Defensive end Kobie Turner continues to emerge as another leader despite entering just his fourth NFL season. Known for his football intelligence, upbeat personality and musical talents away from the field, Turner has become one of the emotional leaders of the Rams' defense.

He believes the unit has already shown glimpses of what it can become.

"Yeah, I think we have a lot of really great flashes of our potential," Turner said. "It's about continuing to stack days. It's camp, so there are going to be a lot of ups and downs, but when we're playing all together and all as one, we're a scary front. We're a scary defense."

Turner believes every level of the defense has the talent to be among the league's best.

"Front end, back end, at the second level, we have a complete package of a defense," Turner said. "So it's about putting it together, coming together, being on the same page, and we're going to go ball out this year."

With the pads finally on, the intensity has increased, but so has the optimism. The Rams know expectations outside the building are high. Most NFL veterans realize that they can ease through daily training-camp drills at less than 50 percent. But for Los Angeles Rams edge rusher Myles Garrett, 50 percent is better than 100 percent of any offensive lineman he faces. That is something the LA coaching staff is coming to grips with.

Former All-Pro Aaron Donald gave coaches fits throughout his career during camp. Donald could not throttle back far enough to give any o-lineman a chance. That, in turn, blew up plays and neutralized offensive reps.

At times, head coach Sean McVay was forced to bench Donald in practice just to allow meaningful reps for the offense.

Throughout Donald's career, the Rams struggled to find the right teammates to unlock his full potential. Ndamukong Suh seemed to be the best match for the regular season. His presence allowed Donald to have a career year. But it was not until the addition of Von Miller in 2021, the Rams' Super Bowl season, that they finally found the magic.

A fast-moving defensive front is fun to watch. But it's only effective if the speedsters can make plays and tackle ball carriers. Garrett may face double teams, but he has mastered all his responsibilities as an edge rusher. Sure, he can sack quarterbacks. But he sets the edge, sheds blockers, and stuffs the run as well.

In many ways, Garrett may remind Rams fans of Donald's dominance along the line of scrimmage. He not only blows up offensive plays, but he makes the tackle to end it.

Garrett appears to be picking right up where Donald left off. Beat writer Stu Jackson summarized Garrett's performance from Day 2 of training camp by saying that he "lived in the backfield."

That may be frustrating for offensive linemen and the offense as a whole, but it is awfully encouraging to the defense and to fans who are starving for an elite defender able to carry the team to victory.

Myles Garrett cannot be stopped in training camp, using only a fraction of his speed and power. Imagine the carnage when he finally gets to play at full speed and power.

LOS ANGELES — The beautiful campus of Loyola Marymount is the fifth stop on my NFL training camp trip, with a powerhouse Rams team bunking up here for a couple weeks. Here’s what I’m hearing …

• The buzz about the new guys is very real. Myles Garrett has been, believe it or not, better than advertised, has fit in seamlessly and should benefit from having a deep, loaded group of defensive linemen around him. And Trent McDuffie has checked every box, as a guy who can play field, boundary and slot corner, and is a tough, physical tone-setter—I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a captain in his first year as a Ram. The team believes he can become perhaps the NFL’s best defensive back in a role not unlike the one that Jalen Ramsey (who, admittedly, is a bigger, more physically imposing player) played in Los Angeles. Those two guys alone should make a very significant difference, and that’s with all due respect to Jared Verse, who was part of the cost of getting Garrett.

• So the next question, obviously, is whether Aaron Donald is going to be part of that defense. Donald’s working through training to make sure he can feel like himself out there—and the bar for him to feel like himself is, obviously, very high. But he and Sean McVay have a very close relationship, and they have established a rough timeline for his return should Donald go through with it. My sense is it wouldn’t happen until after the Rams leave Loyola Marymount and head back to their home facility north of L.A. The plan from there, should he return, would likely mirror how they ramped Donald up in his two holdout years, 2017 and ’18, which happened to be McVay’s first two years with the Rams. And the aforementioned depth and the balance on the defensive front would help them manage Donald, too. Speaking of that depth, there are a couple more young guys—Josaiah Stewart and Braden Fiske—having the kinds of offseasons that give you the idea that they could take their level of play to another level.


• On offense, Davante Adams, Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams are where you’d expect them to be, and Colby Parkinson is leading a deep, versatile tight end group. The second layer of skill talent is where the offense could look a little different than it did a year ago. Terrance Ferguson has had a fantastic offseason. He is now proving to be a guy who can play all over the formation and looks like he could be a force after the catch, showing why the Rams coveted him in the 2025 draft and now believe he could grow into one of the NFL’s best tight ends. Blake Corum has also worked to earn carries alongside Williams, seeing the game faster, and looking like a guy who could add a big-play element to the Rams’ physical run game. If there’s a question on offense, it’s at tackle, where Alaric Jackson is facing potential discipline from the NFL, and Rob Havenstein retired.

• Stafford’s presence certainly has been felt—last year, he had perhaps his best season as a pro at 37 years old, and he has been sharp and locked in early this summer. He’s also as healthy as he’s been at this point in the calendar in a few years, and if he stays that way, there’s every reason to believe he’ll be every bit as good in 2026. More than anything, there’s a sense that he’s really enjoying the game, and the team, and was at the very top of his game the last time we saw him, through the Rams’ playoff run.

• Finally, if there’s one area where there could be a significant uptick in performance from 2026, it’s special teams. McVay was able to land the well-regarded Bubba Ventrone as a new coordinator, and added a couple of real leaders in special teams ace Grant Stuard from Detroit and long snapper Joe Cardona from Miami. I say this because they are not replaceable with like for like no matter how well we draft. When Stafford leaves the game, no matter who we get (even if it was Joe Burrow... not much chance) it will not be a player to that level. So, I plan on enjoying him as long as he wants to be a Ram, and I know McVay and Snead are not just saying nice things when they tell us that Matthew can play for the Rams as long as he likes!! His arm is still 2nd to none at 38 years old. His mind is unmatched. Having to bring back Samuel. Having to rely on the now 30 year old McCaffery (who is always hurt). Even bringing in Mike Evans who, while still good, is not the player he once was. The disaster of really their best most dangerous WR Aiyuk who'll never play for them again. I think this year is going to be the best we'll see of them for awhile. They're going to need to reload, and even if they draft well, it'll take some time to develop those guys.

IMO 2026 will be their best effort of an "all in" year until probably '29 or '30. Shanahan will make the most of what he has (he's a really good coach).
