Blinkscout 2026 S (4 replies)

I do these lists each year ... things to note. Im light on descriptions, there's an entire internet full of that. I mainly read the guys on the board so you don't even have to leave the site. Main difference is that I cover close to 600 players, maybe more. And I cover their entire career of visibility. I'm generous with my grades ... assuming that they'll be dra ted in a solid situation. I try not to listen to unverifiable info, but if it matches body language I was curious about I am unlikely to ignore it (see Mekai Lemon). The 5-6 round section enters the gray area ... Would I draft them? Yes, I have them draftable ... but I'd much rather they slide off the board. Again, it's numbers. I have more guys listed than are going to be drafted ... by a lot.

This is one area where I don't even think we have room on our roster ... and Tanner Ingle sits happily on the PS awaiting an opening .. so I don't think we're drafting this position this year. That said there's always room for a special teamer ...

15-25 safeties are drafted a year ... there are the favorites and everyone else winds up on the PS. I have 21 in the top 6 rounds ... 26 after that ... so again likely half don't get drafted.

2026 S

Top 10

OSU 2 Caleb Downs 6-0 205 So.
Jr.

10-20

ORE 31 S Thieneman 6-0 205 Jr. (trans)

20-40

TOL 7 S Emanuel McNeil-Warren 6-2 202 Sr. PSAC

SC 24 tfS Kilgore 6-1 204 Fr FAA
219 So.
210 Jr.

TCU 21 CB Bud Clark 6-2 190 So. 5 INTs big pick 6 in playofff
Safety rsSo.
185 Jr.
Sr. great INT snatch 3INTs

40-64

LSU 13 DB Haulcey 6-1 220

AZ 12 S Genessus Smith 6-2 203
So.
Jr. CEO Chief Energy Officer plays all over

(7)

3-4 (7)

AZ 2 CB Stukes 6-2 195 Jr.
Sr.
5th watch

Kst 19 tfDB VJ Payne 6-3 192 Fr watch career
200 So.
211 Jr.
208 Sr. 4.40

UT 16 DB Taafe 6-0 195 Jr.
189 Sr.

MD 22 CB Jalen Huskey 6-2 201 Sr.
+1

USC 7 S/NB Ramsey (UCL trans) 6-0 204 So. I have more guys listed than are going to be drafted ... by a lot.

So, we took care of the gaping holes on the roster and our top 3 look set with McMillan Watson and Forbes. So I'm looking for a back of the roster slot and an outside to takeover for Forbes after next year ... and interestingly enough I think this draft provides a lot of these guys. Do I think we take one at 61? No ... 93? Maybe ... but there are end of the draft and UDFA guys that are super promising IMO. I don't have a top 10 ... though Delane just missed and McCoy would be if not coming off ACL. There are better players in college right now as sophomores or NIL seniors. So, basically, I don't like the value until round 5 or 6, the n there's a lot of "talented opportunities" ... guys that can play ST and work their way onto the field.
on grades ... I will drop a guy that is handsy. I will drop a guy that doesn't play the run well. I will always push up guys that get their hands on the ball.

Says about 25 to 35 guys drafted here each year ... I have 24 in the first FOUR rounds here... mostly in the 3-4 range obviously. 32 after that for 56 total ... basically half these guys are not getting drafted.

I will italicize guys I like that I believe will be drafted below where I rated them ..

2026 CB

Top 10

10-20

LSU 4 CB Monsoor Delaine 6-0 190 sr. #1

TENN 3 CB Jermond McCoy 6-0 193 So. solid watch physical kid (orest trans)
Jr.

20-40

SDSU 1 CB Chris Johnson 6-0 185 Jr.
Sr. yeah watch this kid

CLEM 8 CB Avion Terrell 5-11 180 So.
Some thoughts as we are now less than a week away from the draft (15 replies)

These are just some thoughts that pop up when I'm reading the board or listening to/reading draft articles.

1. Lets get this one out of the way. I see a lot of posters wanting to trade back for a 1st round pick next year. I can say with 99% certainty that this will not happen. I don't like dealing in absolutes, but this one is close. There are several reasons for this.

A) There just will not be a player out there that could command that haul. And if there was, why would the Rams just not take that player. Ty Simpson I do not believe is that guy. He may or may not go in the first, but no one is giving up a 1st next year for him.

B ) GMs know how stacked next years class is and are going to want all the 1st rounders next year that they can get their hands on, certainly not trade them away. Again, the only reason to do this would be if you are all in and think a player at 13 is going to put you over the top. I don't see that guy or that team, unless its Buffalo. And at that point, a top 3 WR would have to drop. The best option would be Jordyn.

2. Speaking of Simpson, I am starting to get a little knot in my stomach wondering why the Rams have not re-signed JG. Last year, they had re-signed him on March 10th. So either JG is waiting for a chance to start somewhere or is looking for a better deal or the Rams just don't have any interest in him at this time. And if that is the case, why? It makes no sense for the Rams to go into a SB contending season with Stafford, Bennett and Drew Allar for example. It does make a bit more sense to into the season with Bennett and Simpson, since Simpson would now be the heir apparent to Stafford. So that nagging feeling is the Rams taking Simpson at 13, and then going WR in round 2 or 3 along with a LBer.

3. The Rams have had some sort of contact the most with these 3 positions: WR-8, DB-5 and LB-4. Does that tell us anything? Probably not, but add that to the perceived notion that the Rams need WR depth, another ILBer and depth behind the starting CBs. Those 3 positions make a lot of sense. Esp in the first 3 rounds.

4. I think there is a real possibility that the top 3 WRs are all gone before the Rams draft at 13. Esp. with the Giants picking up the Bengals #10 pick. The Bengals were never, ever taking a WR at 10. But the Giants certainly can. Now they have the freedom to take a WR and maybe Love, or a Mauigoa or Freeling. Or my favorite combo, Styles and a WR. That IMO leaves the Rams in a precarious spot. Reach for the 4th best WR, or take the 2nd best CB, or add OL depth. The wildcard would of course be Kenyon Sadiq. Personally, none of those ideas are really exciting to me. Sadiq has my interest piqued, but I am not sure how much he contributes in year 1. Especially since the Rams have admitted to cross training Ferguson across a bunch of WR spots. Which is part of the reason he was slowed (along with injury in camp).

5. So with #4 in mind, I truly believe the Rams will try as hard as they can to trade down or out of the 1st round. Butcher and I both agree that the talent in the 2nd half of round 1 and the talent thru at least the middle of round 2 is really close. So it makes sense to get value and a player of similar talent. Now, its one thing to want to trade, and another entirely different thing to actually make a trade.

6. So who are the players that will def. be gone before the Rams pick (barring a medical or personal red flag no one knows about):
QB - Mendoza
EDGE - Bailey, Reese and Bain
RB - Love
WR - Tate
SAF - Downs
LB - Styles

That's 8.

7. So who should have a 50-50 or better chance of being gone:
OL - Mauigoa
WR - Lemon and Tyson
CB - Delane and McCoy

That's 5.

8. So that is 13 players I have with at least a 50-50 chance of being gone, leaving one of those last 5 as a possible Rams pick. I seriosly doubt that the Rams would take Mauigoa at 13, McCoy makes the most sense of the 2 CBs, since they can bring him along slower and I like his upside more. I do think the Rams like Lemon more than Tyson, but both do fit. I think the worst case scenario is seeing Lemon, Tyson, Delane and McCoy joining the other 8 leaving Mauigoa as the top remaining prospect.

9. I know I said there were 8 that will def. be gone, but if there is one guy in that group that possibly got hurt by the Bengals trade with the Giants, its Caleb Downs. I thought Cinn. was the most likely landing spot for Downs. Would the Giants rebuild that defense with Styles and Downs? Maybe. The other spot for Downs I think is N.O., but with Tyson looking good Friday, and the obvious need for a WR, do they go WR. Not sure where that leaves Downs. I do know if he gets close to the Rams, I'm going up to get him. That secondary goes from an obvious weakness to an absolute strength.

10. It sure has been a fun draft season reading Alyo, Butcher and Avenger's posts and drafts and boards and thoughts. Sure makes it easier come Thursday. I also appreciate everyone's thoughts, opinions and mock drafts regardless of whether or not you think you know draft stuff. Even if I don't comment in the thread, they make me think, re-evaluate and go back and look at guys I thought I was done with.

11. I haven't talked much about rounds 2 and 3. I think the Rams are gonna move around a bit and try and gain picks for early day 3 to fill out the roster. I will say this, I could very easily see the Ram going OL as early as round 2. I'm not entirely convinced LB is as big of a need as we think it is. I do know 4 of 5 starting OL are FAs after this season. And that is a problem. I think OG is the bigger need or the OL spots. I also think the Rams come away with a CB in the top half of the draft. Its a really thin position group.

12. I do believe the Rams will come out of this draft with a WR that is 6'-2" or taller. It may be a 2nd WR, it may be late in the draft, but they are seemingly turning over every rock to find one.

13. Outside of maybe a tall WR, I think day 3 is all about OL depth and improving STs. Whether its a return guy, coverage unit guy, whatever. That is by far the biggest weakness of this team. I want an electric return man at the least.

14. So with all that in mind, the Rams biggest holes going into Thursday: (some will overlap, meaning they can get that help in any of those groups.
Early help needed: WR3, CB3 and OL depth
Middle round help needed: ILB, OL depth, CB depth, EDGE depth
Late round help needed: STs units, OL depth taller WR, EDGE depth

15. I haven't really touched on an EDGE rusher, I think they only grab one if he is by far and away the best player available. I could see one in round 3 possibly. But with the other needs, I think that position gets pushed down.

16. I'm gonna finish this with a list of guys I like in every round that I think work for the Rams (using my board):

Round 1;
WR - Tate, Lemon, Boston, Tyson, Cooper Jr.
RB - Love
TE - Sadiq
OL - Mauigoa, Freeling, Iheanachor, Ioane
DL - McDonald
EDGE - Bailey, Bain
LB - Styles
CB - Delane, McCoy, Terrell
SAF - Downs, McNeil-Warren, Thieneman

Round 2:
QB - Simpson
WR - Bell, Fields
TE - Stowers
OL - Pregnon, Bisontis, Dunker
DL - Woods, Miller
EDGE - Jacas, Moore, Lawrence
LB - Hill Jr., Rodriquez, Golday
CB - Johnson, Ponds, Scott
SAF - Haulcy

Round 3:
RB = Washington Jr.
WR - Lance, Sarratt, Hurst, Stribling
OL - Tiernan, Rutledge, Lew, Jones, Slaughter
DL - Orange
EDGE - Height, Crawford
LB - Trotter, Lewis
CB - Igbinosun, Everette
SAF - Stukes

Round 4:
QB - Payton, Green
WR - Thompson, Virgil, Lane
TE - Trigg, Klein
OL - Crownover, Stephens, Bowry, Zuhn III
DL - Corleone, Proctor, Robinson
LB - Boettcher
CB - Muhammad, Neal, Davis, Demmings
SAF - Wheatley, Payne, Clark

Round 5:
QB - Klubnik
RB - Singleton
WR - Douglas
TE - Delp, Raridon
OL - World, Davis, Barber, Pounds
EDGE - Reiger, Kamara
CB - Jackson, Prysock
SAF - Taaffe

Round 6:
RB - Heidenreich, Reid
WR - Wetjen, Roberts
TE - Gyllenborg
OL - Wagner, Coogan, Cooper
DL - Eason
EDGE - Curry, Gumbs
CB - Masses
SAF - Styles Jr., Moore

Round 7:
QB - Robertson
WR - Sturdivant
OL - Wright, Morris, Kump
DL - Barrett
EDGE - Guy, Fano
LB - Kelly, Murdock, Rolder, Bissainthe
CB - Hall, Fuller, Jones
SAF - Thomas, Nwankpa

I have more guys listed than are going to be drafted ... by a lot.

I'm always looking for special teamers in the S and LB ranges, so the lists are longer ... usually. I also don't put a super high value on these guys, even if they are very good. Sonny Styles is really good, he's not getting a top ten grade from me. Reason? My grades include differentiation. Are his numbers crazy? Yes. Did his play on the field completely look different from guys I have in the 5th round range? No. And with LBs that's often the case. It's also why my boys Rodriguez and Kelley are higher here than elsewhere. the effect of their presence as well as when they are not in the game is huge.
Do I think we need an upgrade over Speights? The sheer amount of crazy times and athleticism that showed up on pro days is a first for me. Is it a million players? No, but it's like over 20.
This is the worst year for the top of the draft I've seen ... Im not even into the middle of the draft that much ...
About 20-30 DTs get drafted each year and there will be reaches but if you're reaching for a guy with athletic traits at least you're betting on some upside and giving your coaches some clay to work with. there are a few lunchpail guys that I like as well, deep rotational pieces, but Im not seeing many beat out Hamilton.

14 in the first 4 rounds .... 20 in the 5-6 range ... just saying it's bottom heavy isn't a bad thing. Would I draft them? Yes, I have them draftable ... but I'd much rather they slide off the board. Again, it's numbers. I have more guys listed than are going to be drafted ... by a lot.

This year's edge class is kinda wild. There's one pure beast, everyone else has some exception attached IMO, even then I have two in the top ten after thinking it through. There are guys with short arms, guys that are new to the position, guys that are tweeners, and guys fresh to football. I have a suspicion that teams will get caught up on fit and some talent will fall that we'll b able to work with. At the edge position, athleticism discounts don't occur, and there are very few player that have outstanding traits that are going to go undrafted. So the list is likely a little different. The draft sends off 30-40 edge rushers a year ... that's a lot.

Have a couple explanations to make before anyone asks ... Arvell Reese doesn't have a position for me. That drops him. If he had 12 sacks that would be different not having a position, but he had 6.5, 3.5 less than Jack Kelley, who I almost put here instead of ILB. Dani Dennis-Sutton is one of my all underrated team. Physically he's almost a clone of Verse. My targets for the 91 are all in the 40-64 range. Mason Reiger is one of my favorites after them. Wesley Williams was my enigma player. Stats, impact plays, good agility and burst, and then a terrible 40. I was .2 faster than him at my fastest. I now make noises when I get in and out of cars.

30 in the top 6 rounds ... 22 after that

2026 Edge

Top 10

Ttech 31 rOLB David Bailey 6-3 250 Sr. (STAN trans)

MIA 4 tfDE Ruben Bain Jr. 6-3 275 beast freshman of the year
So.
Jr.

10-20

OSU 8 LB Arvell Reese 6-4 243 Jr.

MIA 3 DE Mesidor 6-3 280 Jr. sack leader
Sr.

PSU 33 DE Dani Dennis-Sutton 6-5 265
Sr.

20-40

A and M 9 DE Cashius Howell 6-4 245 Jr. 1st round next year
248 Sr.

CLEM 3 tfDE TJ Parker 6-3 255 Fr
265 So.
Jr.

MIZZ 9 DE Zion Young 6-6 265 Jr.
262 Sr. watch

AUB 15 DL Keldric Faulck 6-6 288 Fr
So.
Jr.

ILL 17 LB/DE Jacas 6-3 265 Fr
So.
Jr.
275 Sr. 11 sacks optout

MICH 8 rOLB Derrivck Moore 6-3 258 So.
Jr.
Sr. watch

40-64

UCF 51 rOLB Malachai Lawrence 6-4 270 So.
250 Jr.
Sr.

OK 32 DE Mason-Thomas 6-2 249 Jr.
Sr.

TENN 19 rOLB Joshua Josephs 6-3 242 So.
245 Jr. athlete
Sr. watch inj duing tsting 10-9 38 v

Ttech 9 rOLB Romello Height 6-3 235 Sr.

MICH 1 rOLB Barham 6-2 248 Jr. (MD trans)
moved to edge 243 Sr. watch

(14)

3-4 (6)

WISC DE Mason Reiger 6-4 250 best postseason ... 41 vert? 3 sacks in all star game?

DUKE 7 rOLB Vincent Anthony 2nd 6-6 240 Fr watch career
246 So.
250 Sr.

AUB24 rOLB Keyron Crawford 6-4 245 Jr. didn't play til junior year
255 Sr.

IOWA 48 DE Llewellyn 6-5 258 Jr.
Sr. beast.

Ncst 8 DE Cian Slone 6-4 250 Sr.

NMS 1 DE James-Newby 6-2 244 Sr. conf sack lader 4.49 40?

5-6 (10)

UT 8 LB Tre Moore 6-3 245 Jr.
249 sr. 7.08 4.21 4.54 40 38 v

WMU DE Nadame Tucker 6-2 241 Sr. 4.73

NORTH 91 DE Aiden Hubbard 6-4 260 So.
Jr.
255 Sr.

UCF 11 DE Nyjalik Kelly 6-5 250 Jr.
Sr.

OSU 92 DE Caden Curry 6-3 260 sr.

Cmich 97 DE Heldman 6-4 260 So.
Jr.
268 Sr. 40 vert 29 reps 7.05 3 cone 4.31 ss 1.64 spl

DUKE 97 DE Wesley Williams 6-3 277 Fr
245 So. watch
265 Jr. 4.90/1.62 ← 7.13

UF 94 DE Tyreak Sapp 6-3 263 Fr
275 So.
Jr.
Sr.

OK 97 DE Marvin Jones Jr. 6-5 262 Sr. (FSU trans)

BC 15 rOLB Hutchins 6-3 246 Jr.
240 Sr.

7-UDFA (22)

VAN 96 DE Khordae Syndor 6-4 262 Sr. 4.69/1.58 7.28 10-1

USC 6 DE Lucas 6-5 275 Jr.
285 sr. showed up at 258 no w/o

UT 91 DE Ethan Burke 6-6 259 sr. 4.95/1.68 6.94

SMU 15 rOLB Cam Robertson 6-4 237 Jr. length and power, needs ten pounds
260 Sr. 4.85/1.69 7.33 4.40 9-4

UF 34 DE George Gumbs 6-4 249 Jr.
Sr.

TCU 11 DE Devin Deal 6-4 250 Jr. (CPOY Tulane trans)
Sr. pec on bench

UT 0 DE Logan Fano 6-5 249 Jr. (bro)

WEST FL Colby Taylor 6-1 251 4.56 40 30 reps 10-7 7.05 39 v

UNC 10 DE Pryce Yates 6-4 265 sr.
