I actually don't have many binges.... while I am watching TV today more than ever before in my life I'm pretty sure I watch one HELL of a lot less TV than most people.

So, (as you probably already know) I'd like to first admit that I'm hard on movies and TV shows.... the vast majority don't interest me at all... even some of the most popular. So you can't go by me. I'm a lousy TV fan and an even worse reviewer.

First - "Severance". Only TV show I've ever heard more highly praised was "Longmire". LOVED "Longmire"....and I 'like' Severance... can't say I love it. BUT.. it's entertaining, keeps you guessing, has some nice twists. I'm enjoying it if not loving it.

"I Will Find You".... on Netflix. I thought it was weak, with illogical plot twists mixed with "oh give me a break" holes. . I think they were overly concerned with tossing in as many twists as possible making it rather easy to see thru them. BUT... I watched it all! :laughing. The plot was so off the wall I just had to see how it ended. :laughing

"Sugar"... I really like Colin Farrell as an actor. Starred in two of my favorite recent movies - "En Bruge" and "The Banshess Of Inersherin". Really liked season 1 of Sugar.... not crazy about season 2, at least so far.... next episode debuts Friday... I'll watch... but not sure if I'll stick with "Sugar"..... well, I probably will. :laughing

Finally "Silo". I like Silo a lot. I was a bit worried about season 3, (which just started), in that I had come across some articles that dropped hints as to where they were headed in Season 3 and I wasn't sure I liked where it was going, BUT... after episode 2 of season 3 I am good with it so far.

The first two 'binge' watches for me were "Longmire" and "Bosch"... (which I saw after their initial run) - and I liked both better than the above mentioned.

So anyway... I'm caught up. Next episodes of Silo and Sugar this Friday.

Oh, and btw, I am the WORST at knowing which networks these shows are on. I pay NO attention to what network I'm watching... BUT... For the most part I ended up enjoying it

I think people who compare it to the actual books will enjoy it more then those who try to compare it to the 1970s TV show

Like every fan of Little House On The Prairie , Im sure we were all waiting to see how moderen Hollywood would update a beloved show from the 1970s about a family iving in the 1870s for a new audience

I'm sure oppions will range greatly on the subject

Again , I did end up enjoying it , this season takes place in Independence Kansas ,, if anyone has seen the original pilot movie , before it became an actual series will recognize several story lines

This new show does have alot of heart and family moments , but , it is a little more somber then the original , it also doesn't have the supporting cast or the humor like the original , these new supporting cast were all fine , and likable , just a little generic, but it's also unfair to compare them after 8 episodes to those that were in over 200 episodes , most will be forgettable as we are now off the Walnut Grove foe season 2

I'm looking forward to season 2 to see if they will actually build there little sod house dug out along Plum Creek , the original series never covered that

We live about an hour straight south of Walnut Grove and the wife and I have visited the museum there in Walnut Grove and have been down to Plum Creek to were the indentation is still there were there sod house used to be , so we hope to see it in season 2

The new series is also good family viewing, it's about family ,

There are no big bad guys , no shoot'em up actions scence , just a family trying to make a new start in the middle of Kansas in 1870s

This new show my take a few liberties with the book ,but it's still way closer then the 1970s TV was

For someone who has read all the books and pretty much the same age as Malissa Gilbert , I grew up right along with her

I give this new version a passing grade

Right from the opening credits you'll get the sense this new show will have a different tone

Just a little tiny thunderstorm popped up

Which

Popped off 4 tornadoes at once southwest of town

Luckily they were out in the county and didn't do to much damage , except for a corn field

also luckily , they were close to the corn belt power plant , which could have been pretty bad for a whole lot of people

Kinda cool though , how often do you see 4 tornadoes at one

Some years ago I dropped my smart phone in Millerton Lake. Gone forever.

Just got a text from a cousin... he dropped his phone in Shaver Lake early this last May. Yesterday a diver in Shaver Lake, looking for fishing lures, found his phone.... turned it on and saw a number..... called it. Today my cousin picked up his phone and it's working perfectly.

My cousin, BTW, is the luckiest human on earth. I think he's won every single raffle he's ever bought a ticket for. At a local club I belong too they have a couple raffle's every year.... main prize is a gun..... my cousin wins it every year. I think he's won a dozen guns or far? Maybe more. Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, etc etc. There are many around the world.

I LOVE watching these teams perform. I'll drive hours to see them. I do not have a "Favorite" team but in recent years the Thunderbirds have 'wow'd' me the most.

I have to confess I do have a favorite plane used by these teams - the Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet used by the Blue Angels... but I am swayed by the 'colors'. The Blue Angels are extraordinarily beautiful.

I have not seen many of the teams from other countries, just a handful. I've seen the Snowbirds from Canada. While in Europe I saw one of the teams from France and one from Italy, (I forget their names). They are as amazing as the USA teams.

When I am watching them I am spellbound.... and disgusted in myself for not putting in the work and time to have been part of one of those teams. :laughing

On another topic we have discussed here... they are still using the skies directly over my home to train/dogfight. These are the fighters out of Lemoore Naval Air Stations... and possibly Fresno's California Air National Guard. They put on a show overhead that's nearly as good as the Air Display Teams. My windows rattle when they are overhead which is about once a week.
