If they do it right and keep building their brand, the cap can get bigger every year.

Everyone makes more money, and there’s more parity.

Sure, teams like the Royals can stretch payroll for a couple years at a time, but they don’t generate the money from their broadcast network like the Yankees, Dodgers, and Mets.

What MLB really needs to crack down on are these ridiculous deferred contracts and restructure TV deal revenue sharing to include the profits generated from ownership of broadcast networks.
