But stupid Apple keeps showing me pictures of her growing up and then its 30 minutes going through photos of her on my phone and then another hour or so to feel better.

Not that I don't love this age too... Nono is what we called our Croatian grandfather. Nona was grandma.

Reminds me of Mork's alien greeting "nanu, nanu" on Mork & Mindy.

I think it's interesting that the names we call our parents and grandparents aren't all that different even though the languages may be.]]> MamaRAMa Bucky's PubThu, 25 Sep 2025 22:19:43 -0400 https://ramsrule.com/herd/read.php?4,1189023,1189242#msg-1189242 That's interestinghttps://ramsrule.com/herd/read.php?4,1189023,1189242#msg-1189242

More typical in Italian families to use "nonno".... but my Grandfather... same last name as mine - "Marchini" - was called Papachini... so I stuck with it. :laughing

It's kinda funny, all the older grandsons friends call me Pap too.... Some probably don't even know what my name is.... When I was a kid, we called our grandmother "Nene" (her name was Geneva) and my grandfather was Poppy (his name was Otis).
I loved their names and our whole extended family called them by those names for years. The names suited them.

I wanted my grandson to call me Nannie ..but he never did.
When he was about 3 yr old, on his own he started calling us "grandma" and "grandpa" and that's who we've been ever since.

What do your grandkids call you?]]> MamaRAMa Bucky's PubWed, 24 Sep 2025 23:47:21 -0400 https://ramsrule.com/herd/read.php?4,1189023,1189030#msg-1189030 Re: Congratulations!https://ramsrule.com/herd/read.php?4,1189023,1189030#msg-1189030
