How are the Burger Kings in your areas?? Ours seem to be hurting. Wife and I went to one that we hit from time to time. Sat behind one car waiting at the drive thru speaker for 5 minutes so we just went inside. We were there smack in the middle of Dinner time and nobody was in there. Gotta say...Self serve Kiosks are NOT a help for encouraging people to dine in. We got ours to go. Service was a tad slow but there was just three people working and one young man was brand new. He was working hard. Salute to him. They got our orders right. Hell...WE got our orders right after figuring the Kiosk! LOL I just found it a bit depressing because so many restaurants are slowly dying. Chick Fil A's a re still killing it around here but even THEY have shorter lines. I told my Wife that I bet we see things like the early / mid 1970s when you might find 3-4 Burger Kings in the entire city of Jacksonville. I think people are tired of expensive and smaller food. I also think that people my age are turning away from fast food. Tonight's meal was not bad but I simply felt yucky after eating it. But back to Burger King....OFTEN, I see the ones in the Jacksonville area with few customers and often poorly run. Funny you mentioned that. My grandson LOVES pizza. Today after school we were talking about pizza and the fact that we've never tried making a pizza together from scratch. The last time I made my own pizza was quite a few years ago when I had a lot of food restrictions due to my interstitial cystitis and had no choice but to make my own pizza at home. As it turned out, my interstitial cystitis was really bladder cancer but my point is... for almost 2 years I couldn't eat anything acidic so that ruled out tomato-based pizza sauce. I learned to make a white pizza sauce and also a pizza sauce made from roasted red bell peppers, carrots, and beets. This pic is really old, but it's the first pizza I made totally from scratch. From what I remember, it was pretty good!

Here I like my own. I use Black Rifle "Murdered Out"... I like VERY strong coffee. Murdered out is the closest I've found to Italian coffee but far short in potency. Of the franchise places - Dutch Bros is my favorite. FAR superior to Starbucks, IMHO... but not really what I wish I could get.

Ok, Breakfast... never had your choice and probably never weill. As much as I love McD's egg/sausage/muffin I probably have 3 a year? Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day... and I've yet to find any place that does breakfast as well as I can do on my stove. BTW.... Breakfast is the ONLY meal I can cook. :laughing

The greatest meal a human being can eat is breakfast, (a full one), in the mountains. EVERYTHING is better in the mountains. Which leads me too... the best all time breakfast...

Back some years... my uncle cooked. We'd bag a deer and we'd hang it overnight and let that cool evening put that glaze on it. In the morning he would fillet some steaks off... then beans, (not what you're thinking), eggs, and dutch oven biscuits. Once Again... my favorite fast food is In & Out... 2nd place isn't even close. I "hear" that Wendy's Chili is excellent but again... I've never had it.

and when you drive through the drive through , there are even signs , now hiring , $16.00 bucks an hour , $18.00 bucks an hour for selected shifts

McDonalds used to be a fun place to take your kids , McDonalds playland

now you go to McDonalds it just just reminds you of a depressed middle aged man

Pizza Hut is another one , we used to have them all over the place around here , now there is only one like 15 miles , in a town we seldom go to

At lunch time and dinner time there will be a line of cars at McD's that looks like the start of a NASCAR race and maybe ONE car at BK. I think I read an article a few years ago that they were hurt'n nation wide. I don't eat out often, and considering how much it costs to eat out these days, I'm doing it even less than I used to. My bladder cancer support group meets at a restaurant for lunch once a month so there's that, but other than that, Frank and I may eat at a fast food place once or twice a month.
