You would think after the blood clot issues Jalen Hurts had in the UK and the NFL has no blood clot protocol in place yet, the NFL would think twice about traveling that far. But no, he's doubling down and saying it was a success on every level! Why??? Money money money!!!

“We look at the Australia game as a tremendous success on really every level,” Goodell said.

Asked whether the ability to have two teams travel so far away for a game opens up the possibility of future games in Asia, Goodell indicated that teams can handle the travel. He also alluded to the fact that the 49ers, who arrived a week in advance to acclimate, blew out the Rams, who arrived only a day in advance.

“We learn something from every game and every event. It was a longer trip, of course. The teams took different approaches — I think we learned something from that, too,” Goodell said.

Penalties are up in the NFL this year, but Commissioner Roger Goodell says that isn’t a reflection on the officials.

Asked about the officiating and the penalty increase, Goodell said the officials are evaluated on whether they make the right calls, not the number of flags they throw.

“Number of fouls can’t be an evaluation of officiating, necessarily,” Goodell said. “Because we don’t commit the fouls, right? The officials are there to call the fouls, when they exist. So I think when you evaluate officiating, you don’t just look at total number of fouls. I think that’s an inappropriate way to approach it.”

Goodell said he believes officiating has improved and the league is continuing to get more calls right.

“We look more deeply at, are they properly called? And I see that every week, sometimes multiple times a week, where we go through the plays that were called and the things we want to change and the approaches we want to make,” Goodell said. “I think the changes made to our officiating, not just with collective bargaining, but in the offseason with personnel, the processes we have on replay, including replay assist, have all been beneficial and have been very positive things. But we continue that effort. We’re always going to continue that effort.”


After Week 4, the NFL suspended line judge Jeff Seeman for two games and referee Adrian Hill for one game for their conduct toward players. Goodell said that was part of the league’s insistence on good sportsmanship from everyone.

“Absolutely, we do want accountability for our officials,” Goodell said. “But we also want respect between the participants. Rams could be looking at players like Brian Thomas Jr or George Pickens if they make a trade per the article.

This exactly why some of us wanted this done since last offseason for the exact reason they are now doing it.

I guess they aren't too confident in the rookie they drafted. I would be ok with a trade. Pickens would look good in broken/neutered horns!!! I am just not sure what they have to offer from a trade stand point. We already gave away all our picks!

That's not going to change. I'll always care about the team's successes and failures, and I'll always try to watch when they play.

But this year, I'm becoming a bit more disinterested. I don't feel like the team has given us, as fans, their best, so I'm not going to expend much in the way of intellectual or emotional energy for the time being.

I'm not interested in evaluating the stats, the lineups, the matchups, or the prospects. I just don't feel the urge to do any of those things now.

I hope the team will turn things around and re-spark my interest. It's not too late yet (though it's getting close). We've seen the team reverse its fortunes in recent years, and I truly hope they will again.

Until then, though, this is about all I have to say.

I'll still be watching and rooting.

Pre - Israel (on the map) is very, VERY ancient ancestry. 20 to 25 thousand years ago. I have a more detailed migration path but won't bore you with it. Most recent countries in my path are France - Germany - Italy. Italy being the most recent and by far the most represented.

McVay is pissed, Ventrone has a few weeks to prove himself and Shula has a chance to be creative.

Raiders are gonna be tough, but think we could be a trap game for them, then we have the Chargers who are falling apart. If we win the next two games things look a lot better. I do not think this season is over by any means.

saw a good clip of a guy who was breaking down how the Cardinals defense knew exactly where Stafford would look to throw when they would blitz him and how they designed their defense to bait him and confuse him....

it was not the only thing they knew about this offesne either....

McVay has to know this and should have completely went in a different direction ...maybe he did and Stafford just kept checking out of certain plays based on what the Cardinals would show him pre snap ???

Rams are sitting at 2-4, they are very fortunate not to be 1-5. But of course, throw those POS refs away and they could be 5-1.

Now they sit here with No Garrett, No WR2, No NT, No Kicker, NO Coverage unit for ST, NO Returner. And they seem to be stuck in Neutral.

When you have SB aspirations you need to make the moves needed to get there, are they counting on a Kicker to just come in cold with no work with the LS and Holder on game day? there are currently 3 more days of practice to go. Do they honestly think that there is a WR2 on this roster? Their BS half ass try at Returner got us Bachman who in my mind is not even worth a PS spot.

Rams need a lot of things, But right now I would say the biggest need is some urgency to try and salvage this season, they can still get to the wild card, but they are showing me literally nothing to this point.

I am just blown away by this Kicker search, didn't they just have a kicker search to replace Mevis? Was Grupe the only guy even considered? or perhaps the kickers do not want to play for Bubba and the bumbling clowns we have on ST. I mean, playing here could ruin their chances at an extended career elsewhere.
