Last year I got 4 of 6 (missed on Paul Jr. because he wasn't a fit, and well, he wasn't a fit, and Mumps didn't make my top 6 rounds)

Most teams have 100-175 names on their big board. I ended up with 198 names, but of my top 10, only 2 could be available, making my list more like 190. This year was tough, since they have fewer holes and its more about depth, they could go a million ways. This year, the names in italics are guys I like throughout the draft.

1. Fernando Mendoza – QB – Indiana – 6’-5” 236 lbs. – Prototypical size, good arm, can keep the play alive with his legs or get first downs. Leader and accurate. Nothing elite traits-wise.

2. Sonny Styles – LB – Ohio State – 6’-5” 243 lbs. – Safety turned LBer, sideline to sideline range, solid tackler, excellent in coverage and a good blitzer. Not a thumper.

3. Arvell Reese – LB – Ohio State – 6’-4” 241 lbs. – LBer/EDGE. Better right now as a MLB, sideline to sideline, quick to diagnose. As an edge, just starting to develop a pass rush. Ultra athletic.

4. Jordyn Tyson – WR – Arizona State – 6’-2” 203 lbs. – Elite separator, can play all 3 spots. Smooth route runner. Injuries are a concern, but not connected (not injury prone IMO)

5. Caleb Downs – SAF – Ohio State – 6’-0” 206 lbs. – elite football IQ, always around the ball, playmaker. Best fit may be to move him around and make OCs account for him pre-snap. Average athlete.

6. Carnell Tate – WR – Ohio State - 6’-2” 192 lbs. – Z WR that wins jump balls, good route runner with excellent hands, average play speed. Has always been WR2.

7. Makia Lemon – WR – USC – 5’-11” 195 lbs. – Plays above his weight class, slot or X WR. Good blocker and physical as a WR with a ridiculous win rate in contested catch scenarios. Mental makeup scares me a bit.

8. Jeremiah Love – RB – Notre Dame - 6’-0” 212 lbs. – HR hitter speed with good vision and great contact balance. Not a pile pusher.

9. David Bailey – EDGE – Texas Tech – 6’-3” 250 lbs. – Best pure edge rusher in the class.

10. Rueben Bain Jr. – EDGE – Miami – 6’-2” 263 lbs. – insane power rusher that just overwhelms blockers. Excellent anchor against the run. Historically short arms.

11. Kenyon Sadiq – TE – Oregon – 6’-3” 241 lbs. – Slot or In-line TE, good blocker, above average route runner and a RAC terror. Below average production.

12. Mansoor Delane – CB – LSU – 6’-0” 187 lbs. – Better press man than zone, but can play both. Aggressive against the run. Lacks INT production.

13. Francis Mauigoa – OT – Miami – 6’-5” 329 lbs. – RT or RG, smart and patient blocker with an excellent base and good power. Feet are a bit sluggish.

14. Monroe Freeling – OT – Georgia – 6’-7” 315 lbs. – Top true LT in the draft, highly athletic with excellent length. Needs to get stronger and gain experience.

15. Denzel Boston – WR – Washington – 6’-4” 212 lbs. – Smooth route runner with elite ball skills, especially in contested catch situations, lacks deep speed. X WR.

16. Omar Cooper Jr. – WR – Indiana – 6’-0” 199 lbs. – Ultra physical slot WR, good blocker. Strong hands and tough to bring down after the catch. Not a great route runner.

17. Olaiavega Ioane – OG – Penn State – 6’-4” 328 lbs. – Great size and strength, excellent technique. Lacks ideal movement skills.

18. Jermod McCoy – CB – Tenn. – 6’-1” 188 lbs. – Ballhawk, with a silky lower half and physical at the catch point. ACL tear muddies his water a bit.

19. Emmanuel McNeil-Warren – SAF – Toledo – 6’-3” 201 lbs. – He’s an enforcer on the backend. Plenty of range. Sloppy technique can get him in trouble. Box or split safety.

20. Dillon Thieneman – SAF – Oregon – 6’-0” 201 lbs. – Rangy, high IQ that is position diverse. Quick to react. Not a thumper against the run.

21. Anthony Hill Jr. – LB – Texas – 6’-2” 238 lbs. – Sack production? Check. Forced fumbles? Check. Sideline to sideline? Check? Pass cover ability? Check. Can get over-aggressive.

22. KC Concepcion – WR – Texas A&M – 6’-0” 196 lbs. – His twitch and quickness create separation and makes him dangerous after the catch. Unreliable hands. Slot WR.

23. Spencer Fano – OT – Utah – 6’-5” 311 lbs. – Highly athletic and technically sound, played RT at Utah, but 32” arms probably moves him to OG. Needs to get stronger.

24. Chris Johnson – CB – SDSU – 6’-0” 193 lbs. – Man/zone inside/outside CB that is technically sound and is a smooth mover. Can get beat deep.

25. Avieon Terrell – CB – Clemson – 5’-11” 180 lbs. – Inside/outside CB with a great peanut punch. Physical against the run. Fluid mover with good technique. Slender build may limit him to the slot.

26. Blake Miller – OT – Clemson - 6’-7” 317 lbs. – RT that is a highly fluid mover with a mauler mentality. Needs to get stronger.

27. Peter Woods – DL Clemson – 6’-3” 298 lbs. – Explosive get off, with decent power helps him win the rep early. Solid anchor to hold up against the run. Needs to add good weight. 24 was better than 25. You’ll see a pattern with Clemson guys.

28. Cashius Howell – EDGE – Texas A&M – 6’-2” 253 lbs. – Explosive first step that leads to a stat sheet full of sacks. Bendy with a good motor. Not a great edge setter against the run.

29. Max Iheanachor – OT – Arizona State – 6’-6” 321 lbs. – Dancing bear RT that would work best in a zone scheme. Super athlete. Sloppy technique.

30. Kayden McDonald – DL – Ohio State – 6’-2” 326 lbs. – Space eating, run stuffer deluxe. Excellent power. Lacks a pass rush.

31. TJ Parker – EDGE – Clemson – 6’-4” 263 lbs. – High motor with excellent hand work (6 forced fumbles in ’24) good athlete. Had a down year in ’25.

32. Eli Stowers – TE – Vanderbilt – 6’-4” 239 lbs. – Former QB, only 3 years at TE. A serious problem with the ball in his hands, which are excellent. Rare athleticism for the position. Effort is lacking in blocking.

33. 46. Jacob Rodriguez – LB – Texas Tech – 6’-1” 231 lbs. – A stat sheet stuffer at ILB, He can go sideline to sideline and has a knack for the ball in coverage. A tad under-sized, not a stack and shed guy.

34. D’Angelo Ponds – CB – Indiana – 5’-9” 180 lbs. – Fast, athletic and strong undersized CB that fights well above his weight class. High effort. Size may restrict him to inside only. Or not.

35. CJ Allen – LB – Georgia – 6’-1” 230 lbs. – Old school thumper, team captain and playcaller. Pass coverage is OK at best.

36. Colton Hood – CB – Tenn. – 6’-0” 193 lbs. – Press man CB that plays a physical style of game. Film junkie and is active against the run. Can get handsy more than I like.

37. Jake Golday – LB – Cincinnati - 6’-4” 239 lbs. – Explosive, old school stack and shed ILB with sideline range and good physicality, ok in zone. Man coverage lacks.

38. Christian Miller – DL – Georgia – 6’-4” 321 lbs. – Packs quite a punch off the snap, active hands and good athlete. He can ruin your run game. Not much pass rush production.

39. Josiah Trotter – LB – Missouri – 6’-2” 237 lbs. – Old school ILB with NFL bloodlines, fast diagnoser and a good finisher against the run. Not exactly sideline to sideline and pass coverage is below average.

40. Treydan Stukes – SAF – Arizona - 6’-1” 190 lbs. – Film junkie walk-on turned team captain. Fluid and fast, can play in the nickel or as a FS, split of single high. A tad lacking in the run defense department.

41. Caleb Lomu – OT – Utah – 6’-6” 313 lbs. – LT with OK length, is athletic with a solid punch. Needs to get stronger, continue to develop technique.

42. Emmanuel Pregnon – OG – Oregon – 6’-4” 314 lbs. – Heavy handed bulldozer with a nasty mindset. Not a smooth mover. Power/gap scheme.

43. Brandon Cisse – CB – South Carolina – 6’-0” 189 lbs. – Ultra athletic outside CB that fits any scheme, a bit raw. Mediocre ball production.

44. Ty Simpson – QB – Alabama – 6’-1” 211 lbs. – Accurate, can go through progressions, can win with his legs, what I consider a mobile pocket passer. Under-sized with just an average arm.

45. Lee Hunter – DL – Texas Tech – 6’-4” 318 lbs. – An absolute space eater with his size, power and wingspan. Bullrush only as a pass rusher. Not a great athlete, mostly straight forward skills.

46. R Mason Thomas – EDGE – Oklahoma – 6’-2” 241 lbs. – Explosive first step added to his athleticism makes him dangerous, a constantly hot motor. Lacks ideal size and length.

47. Chris Bell – WR – Louisville – 6’-2” 220 lbs. – An Z or X WR that is a load to bring down in the open field, solid speed and reliable hands. Late season torn ACL is an issue for this season.

48. Gennings Dunker – OT – Iowa – 6’-5” 319 lbs. – Ideal size and strength with a finishers mentality. Full go to the echo of the whistle. A bit robotic, 33.5” arms, I think he would be best as a OG that has the ability to play OT in a pinch.

49. Malachi Fields – WR – Notre Dame – 6’-4” 218 lbs. – Traditional X that wins contested catches with his size/length and strength. Build up speed is OK. Route running is average, not a lot of separation ability.

50. Germie Bernard – WR – Alabama – 6’-1” 204 lbs. – I like his size combined with his route running and speed as an all-around good WR. Not as physical as I’d like to see, esp. considering his size.

51. Gabe Jacas – EDGE – Illinois – 6’-4” 260 lbs. – A powerhouse that works in a 34 or 43, won’t wow you with his speed or athleticism, he just overpowers you. Team captain. Lacks creativity as a pass rusher.

52. AJ Haulcy – SAF – LSU - 6’-0” 215 lbs. – Plays like a LBer, but had a ton of ball production, film junkie. Average athlete with average speed.

53. Chase Bisontis – OG – Texas A&M – 6’-5” 315 lbs. – Versatile OG with a mean streak that moves fairly well and is technically sound. Short arms can at times be an issue.

54. Keionte Scott – CB – Miami – 5’-11” 193 lbs. – Physical, intense nickel CB that can defend the run and be used as a blitzer. Lacks ball production.

55. Zachariah Branch – WR – Georgia – 5’-9” 177 lbs. – Slot WR that did a lot of his damage around the LoS and then used his speed and explosiveness to gain yardage. Punt returner. Not a good route runner. Lacks ideal catch radius.

56. Derrick Moore – EDGE – Michigan – 6’-4” 255 lbs. – A power rusher with a nose for the QB. Can set a decent edge against the run. Run defense effort comes and goes. 34 EDGE.

57. Bryce Lance – WR – NDSU – 6’-3” 204 lbs. – Size speed/athletic trifecta with a nose for the endzone. X WR with a willingness to block. Route running is a work in progress.

58. Skyler Bell – WR – UConn – 6’-0” 192 lbs. – Works in all three WR spots, a serious deep threat and a terror after the catch. Physical player. Drops are an issue.

59. Malachi Lawrence – EDGE – UCF – 6’-4” 253 lbs. – Ideal size as a 34 EDGE with an explosive first step and a high octane motor. Edge setting needs to improve.

60. Malik Muhammad – CB – Texas – 6’-0” 182 lbs. – A sticky scheme diverse cover CB with good patience and is a smooth mover. Slender frame is less than ideal. Move inside?

61. Caleb Tiernan – OT – Northwestern – 6’-8” 323 lbs. – Length and experience of a swing tackle with the arm length (32.5”) of an OG. Team captain. Strong and tough. May lack an ideal position.

62. Joshua Josephs – EDGE – Tenn. – 6’-3” 242 lbs. – Long armed 34 EDGE that can bend around the corner and hunt QBs. Relentless energy. Needs more size/strength for edge setting.

63. Brian Parker II – OC – Duke – 6’-5” 309 lbs. – Nasty, technically sound blocker that gave up only 4 sacks and 4 QB hits in over 1300 pass reps. Experience at both tackle spots. Sub 33” arms probably moves him inside as an OC/OG. Needs to get stronger.

64. Davison Igbinosun – CB – Ohio State – 6’-2” 189 lbs. – Excellent length, a willing run defender and physical at the catch point. ’24 was a flag fest. Better in ‘25

65. Antonio Williams – WR – Clemson – 5’-11” 187 lbs. – Nuanced route running slot WR with good speed and quickness. Bonus punt returner. Injuries in ’23 and ’25 are a concern.

66. Keylan Rutledge – OG – Georgia Tech – 6’-4” 316 lbs. – Nastiest blocker in the draft. Plays almost beyond the whistle and wants to destroy you. Needs to work on creating a more stable base to anchor.

67. Kyle Lewis – LB – Pitt – 6’-0” 220 lbs. – Undersized pass defender as a weakside ILB in a 34 or a WILL in a 43. Sideline to sideline speed with a penchant for stuffing a stat sheet. Could see a move to SAF, due to size.

68. De’Zhaun Stribling – WR – Ole Miss - 6’-2” 207 lbs. – A bigger bodied deep threat with serious wheels after the catch and a plus blocker as well. Not a great separator.

69. Domonique Orange – DL – Iowa State – 6’-2” 322 lbs. – Surprisingly athletic fire hydrant that just clogs the middle of the line. NT in any scheme. 1 sack across 4 years.

70. Elijah Sarratt – WR – Indiana – 6’-2” 210 lbs. – A possession X WR with a nose for first downs and TDs. He’s the definition of a QBs best friend as a reliable chain mover. Good blocker. Athleticism and speed will not wow you.

71. Ted Hurst – WR – Georgia State – 6’-4” 206 lbs. – Size/speed X WR with the ability to win at all 3 levels. Good route runner. Not as physical as he should be at the catch point. Senior Bowl tape only.

72. Max Klare – TE – Ohio State – 6’-4” 246 lbs. – More of a slot than traditional in-line TE that is a good route runner with excellent speed to get deep. Blocking is mediocre.

73. Romello Height – EDGE – Texas Tech – 6’-3” 239 lbs. – relentless speedball as a pass rusher, very fluid with multiple ways to get to the QB. Lacks size/strength as an edge setter. Pass rush specialist for now.

74. Deion Burks – WR – Oklahoma – 5’-10” 180 lbs. – Sharp route runner with top popping speed. Dangerous after the catch. Slot only that lacks ideal size/length.

75. Darrell Jackson Jr. – DL – FSU – 6’-5” 315 lbs. – Long disruptor as a 3T or 34 DE, run defense is his calling card. Can get too upright and lose leverage.

76. Bud Clark – SAF – TCU – 6’-1” 188 lbs. – Ballhawking 3 year team captain with tons of range. Has ST experience. Willing in run support, but lacks some sand in his pants.

77. Kamari Ramsey – SAF – USC – 6’-0” 202 lbs. – Versatile SAF with excellent range and play recognition. Run defense is just OK. Recovering from a knee injury.

78. Conner Lew – OC – Auburn – 6’-3” 310 lbs. – Strong and athletic with a wrestling background. Top rated pure OC. Works in any scheme. Oct. ACL tear will slow year one.

79. Sam Hecht – OC – Kansas State – 6’-4” 303 lbs. – Athletic and technically sound with a solid base. Sub 32” arms cause issues. Zone scheme is his best fit.

80. Logan Jones – OC – Iowa – 6’-3” 299 lbs. – Technically sound, highly experienced, hard worker. Size/length will limit his upside.

81. Sam Roush – TE – Sanford – 6’-6” 267 lbs. – Best In-line blocking TE. Reliable pass catcher that can do the underneath and intermediate stuff, but won’t wow you as a route runner.

82. Jalen Farmer – OG – Kentucky – 6’-5” 312 lbs. – His name is Farmer, so he you know he is strong and a hard worker. Not a nimble mover, struggles getting to the second level.

83. Daylen Everette – CB – Georgia – 6’-1” 196 lbs. – Smooth athlete with great size and a willingness to tackle. Can get handsy and allowed too much underneath catches for my taste.

84. Keyron Crawford – EDGE – Auburn – 6’-4” 253 lbs. – a 34 EDGE that was late to football, so tons of upside. Twitched up and athletic. Run defense lacks, for now. Raw and will need some time.

85. Garrett Nussmeier – QB – LSU – 6’-1” 205 lbs. – Undersized pocket passer who is the son of a coach and understands defenses and is accurate. Played all season with an injury that caused pain every throw he made. Lacks ideal size/weight/arm strength.

86. Genisis Smith – SAF – Arizona – 6’-2” 202 lbs. – Long and rangy ballhawk with excellent pass coverage skills. 33 missed tackles in the last 2 years.

87. Dametrious Crownover – OT – Texas A&M – 6’-7” 319 lbs. – Great size, good athlete, former TE, so a bit raw technique-wise. Needs to get stronger. Developmental type prospect.

88. Jake Slaughter – OC – Florida – 6’-5” 303 lbs. – High IQ line caller with good movement skills. 2 time team captain. Lacks ideal size/strength.

89. Zxavian Harris – DL – Ole Miss – 6’-8” 330 lbs. – Can line up anywhere on the line, excellent power and length help him control the LoS. Can get too upright, losing the leverage battle.

90. Markel Bell – OT - Miami - 6’-9” 346 lbs. – Long, mountainous LT that fits as a powerhouse in a power scheme. His length makes it hard to win with leverage.

91. Jaishawn Barham - EDGE – Michigan – 6’-3” 240 lbs. – Played as a standup EDGE, ILB and 3 pt stance end. Wins with athleticism more than a deep toolbox as a pass rusher. Pass coverage is not good. Hence the move to EDGE fulltime IMO.

92. Zakee Wheatley – SAF – Penn State – 6’-3” 203 lbs. – Tall with plenty of range and can play man and zone coverage. Solid tackler. Not the most physical safety in the class.

93. Michael Trigg – TE – Baylor – 6’-4” 240 lbs. – Go go gadget arms (34.5”) with decent speed that wins along the sidelines, down the seam and in the redzone. Decent blocker. Kind of a sleeper pick IMO. Route running is a work in progress.

94. Dontay Corleone – DL – Cincinnati – 6’-0” 340 lbs. – Compact run stuffer with built in leverage, plenty of power. Not a smooth mover.

95. Deontae Lawson – LB – Alabama – 6’-3” 226 lbs. – Sideline to sideline, effective blitzer, team captain. Once engaged, has an issue shedding. 43 WILL or 34 ILB next to a run stuffer.

96. Kaleb Proctor – DL – Southeastern Louisiana – 6’-2” 291 lbs. – Nice pass rush arsenal, and an explosive get off make him a dangerous 3T. A bit undersized. Shrine Bowl tape only.

97. Billy Schrauth – OG – Notre Dame – 6’-5” 310 lbs. – Played both Guard spots, has a mean streak and a team captain. Elite in pass pro, run blocking lags behind. Ankle and knee sprains require clean medicals.

98. Brenen Thompson – WR – Miss State – 5’-9” 164 lbs. – Pint sized speedster with legit 4.26 speed. He is a deep threat from the slot. A one trick pony that lacks the size to do much more.

99. Reggie Virgil – WR – Texas Tech – 6’-3” 187 lbs. – Good size, good route runner, good hands. Nothing Lacks a top gear.

100. Caleb Douglas – WR – Texas Tech – 6’-3” 206 lbs. - An X sized Z WR that needs a free release to use his length and stride to get deep. Willing blocker. Needs to add strength.

101. Charles Demmings – CB – Stephen F. Austin – 6’-1” 193 lbs. – Scheme versatile with excellent ball production and good size. Not the most fluid of athletes. Senior Bowl film only.

102. Julian Neal – CB – Arkansas – 6’-2” 203 lbs. – Tremendous athlete that works in any scheme. Good in run support. Lacking long speed.

103. Landon Robinson – DL – Navy – 5’-11” 293 lbs. – Quick, strong and under-sized. Reminds me of someone. Won’t be out-leveraged or out-worked. Size can work against him against the run.

104. Tacario Davis – CB – Washington – 6’-4” 194 lbs. – Perfect build for a Cover 3 heavy team, good ball skills and wins in contested situations. Not physical enough in run support.

105. CJ Daniels – WR – Miami – 6’-2” 202 lbs. – Nifty route runner and decent separator, good size for contested catch situations. Not fast or twitchy.

106. Chris McClellan – DL – Missouri – 6’-4” 313 lbs. – Superior hand fighter with monster hands (11”) Holds his own against the run. Decent sack production. A bit stiff and not sudden off the snap.

107. Cole Payton – QB – NDSU – 6’-3” 233 lbs. – Dual threat QB, that can win with his arm or legs. Lefty with accuracy. Only 1 year as a starter. FCS competition level leaves some questions.

108. Carson Beck – QB – Miami – 6’-5” 233 lbs. – Prototypical size with an NFL arm. Experienced and can get through progressions. Turnover machine when the pressure is turned up.

109. Taylen Green – QB – Arkansas – 6’-6” 227 lbs. – Highly athletic, fast dual threat QB. Big arm, great size for the position. Accuracy is not up to NFL standards.

110. Jalon Kilgore – CB – South Carolina – 6’-1” 210 lbs. – Has played in the box, as a STAR and as a nickel. His size is great for TE matchups and jumbo slot WRs. Lacks recovery speed when beat.

111. Justin Joly – TE – NCSU – 6’-3” 241 lbs. – A 3 level pass catcher with good contested catch ability. Route running is decent. Not a great blocker. Hands are just OK.

112. Jack Endries – TE – Texas – 6’-5” 245 lbs. – Does a nice job in traffic and winning contested catches, can work all 3 levels. Needs to get stronger, work on blocking.

113. Beau Stephens – OG – Iowa – 6’-5” 315 lbs. – LG/RG flexibility, strong with a bully demeanor. Sub 32” arms are not ideal.

114. Jude Bowry – OT – BC – 6’-5” 314 lbs. – Strong and athletic LT prospect with good size and the right temperament. Technique is a work in progress. 33 ¾” arms.

115. Bryce Boettcher – LB – Oregon – 6’-1” 230 lbs. – Tazmanian devil that wins with effort over size and athleticism. Has STs written all over him. Undersized.

116. VJ Payne – SAF – Kansas State – 6’-3” 206 lbs. – Long, position versatile, team captain. Good ball skills. Not a physical run defender.

117. Ja’Kobi Lane – WR – USC – 6’-4” 200 lbs. – Long downfield and redzone threat with excellent hands. Not an inspiring separator.

118. Marlin Klein – TE – Michigan – 6’-6” 248 lbs. – Tough, strong with 2 way upside. From Germany and raw.

119. Trey Zuhn III – OT – Texas A&M – 6’-6” 312 lbs. – LT with 32” arms, so he will move inside. 126 snaps at OC in ’25. Solid anchor, decent athletically.

120. Chandler Rivers – CB – Duke – 5’-10” 185 lbs. – Love his combination of physicality and ball skills. His lack of size slides him inside.

121. JC Davis – OT – Illinois – 6’-4” 322 lbs. – Long, strong and physical LT, technique needs an overhaul.

122. Rayshaun Benny – DL – Michigan – 6’-3” 298 lbs. – Active pressure creator with the movement skills to work in a 2 gap scheme as a 3T. Not a great anchor against the run.

123. Isaiah World – OT – Oregon – 6’-5” 323 lbs. – Great size, length and power. Good physicality. Injury and poor technique issues.

Teams who need QBs, need them NOW. Who will be at the top a year from now, especially as concerns those who draft for their teams, is speculating on speculation when they do that. Heck; it's hard enough come draft time to figure out who is going to do well with the current crop because that itself is speculative.

I think this next-year stuff is mostly media and fan talk. The smart and experienced GMs know better than to have this "next year" mentality for something they need today.

Where I'm leading is this: I think Simpson is going somewhere in the first round, maybe even higher than where I think he'll go. I also think that if he is there at 13, the Rams are going to get some calls from a team to move up and get him.... and I think one of the more likely is the Jets. They can use their top pick on a player with the far greater odds to succeed, and then acquire the 13th pick and take a swing with Simpson using their own lower first plus lower round picks. TRADE: Rams send pick 1(13) and a 2027 4th round pick to Chiefs for picks 1(29), 2(40) and 4(109).

Round 1(29): Denzel Boston, WR, Washington
Boston isn’t the burner that some desire, but he’ll fit our offense extremely well. He breaks tackles like Puka, embarrasses DBs in the Red Zone like Davante, and will quickly gain Stafford’s trust on 50/50 throws. Instant impact at the back of the first round.

Round 2(40): Anthony Hill, Jr., LB, Texas
One of my favorite players in the draft. He is a true playmaker (23.5 TFL, 12 sacks, 3 INTs in past two years) from the LB spot. Teamed up with Nate Landman in the middle, the ILB position would become one of strength.

Round 2(61): Caleb Tiernan, OT, Northwestern
Tiernan has good size (6’8, 323) and experience (43 starts), mostly at LT, with a few starts at RT. He’d provide a nice insurance policy on the OL and could develop into a starter in time.

Round 3(93): Tacario Davis, CB, Washington
His size (6’4, 194) and speed (4.41) jump off the page right away. While he’s not a shutdown man-to-man guy, his speed and length make him a good fit in a zone scheme, and he could also provide depth at FS.

Round 4(109): Darrell Jackson, Jr., DT, Florida State
Jackson would provide some NT depth behind Poona Ford. I’m not quite sold on either of our recent draftees (Tyler Davis, Ty Hamilton), so I’d like to bring in some competition.

Round 6(207): Barion Brown, WR, LSU
Brown would give us two things we don’t currently have. (1) A WR with true deep speed (4.40 at Combine) and (2) a real threat on KR (29.4 yards/return, 6 TDs in college).

Round 7(232): Caden Curry, EDGE, Ohio State
On a star-studded Buckeye defense, Curry lead the team with 11 sacks. The Rams like to rotate pass rushers, so Curry could find a similar role with the Rams.

Round 7(251): Dalton Johnson, S, Arizona
Johnson’s real value would be in kick coverage, an area that needs improvement from last year.

Most are still predicting only 2 CB, 1 IOL, 1 TE, 1 RB, and at most 2 ILB in the entire 1st round. So, when you stack it up, WR, OT and CB are going to be coveted. Although, probably 2 and has high as 3 safeties may also go in the 1st round, Downs for sure in the top 10 somewhere.

13 sits at a sweet spot, partly because it won't be horribly unaffordable. There you are likely to get: 1 of the top 3 WRs (assuming Tyson's medicals don't kill him or his workout is suspect), or 1 of the top 3 OTs, or 1 of the top 2 CBs, or the 2nd or 3rd Safety (all top 3 highly rated), or the only 1st round TE. The conjecture seems to be that the #1 IDL won't come off the board until the bottom 10 of the 1st round... just more reasons that WR, Edge and OTs are going to come off the board in waves very early in the 1st round. So, if a team wants one of those, they better jump at a trade up to the 11 - 15 range.

Assuming offers happen, it makes me wonder how Les will weigh them out. He just might demand a 1 next year plus something like a 3rd or 4th this year just to drop 3 or 4 spots. I still think the Jets will be in play to trade up, and I already posted what I think they could offer that makes sense (but not a 1st round next year). On the other hand, the Jets have THREE 1st rounders next year. So, we'll see.

2. As much talent as the Rams already have, and as much as they are likely to obtain, I can say, in all candor, that I remain GREEDY.

3. I want a talented WR3 (future WR2). I want an upgrade at ILB. I want another CB. Another pass rusher. OL depth. A punt/kick returner. And maybe even a developmental QB.

7. On my FINAL draft board, I've reduced the "above the trade line" list to 7 prospects (Mendoza, Styles, Reese, Love, Bailey, Tate and Downs). Once those guys are gone, I'm listening to trade offers, with a particular interest in a trade that keeps us in Round 1, but adds Day 2 picks this year (not really looking to kick the can down the road again).

8. If I had to list one player who I really want, but might be difficult to obtain with our current picks, its Anthony Hill, Jr. I think he'd instantly and profoundly improve our defense (taking Omar Speights' spot, while reducing Nate Landman's workload).

9. The problem is that Hill probably won't last to pick #61 (if he did, I'd sprint to the podium to select him). If we were to trade back, we might find his sweet spot.

10. Here's my crazy thought, though (or, at least, a thought that I have not seen expressed that many might find crazy): I don't think Hill would be a bad pick at #13. There, I said it.

11. I really appreciate the work of our resident draftniks, particularly Deadpool and Alyo. You guys really do a deep dive, and I find your analysis very helpful.

12. I see CB as a high priority, notwithstanding the trade for Trent McDuffie and the signing of Jaylen Watson. Over the course of a season that hopefully will last 20-21 games, you can't have enough depth and talent at this essential position.

13. I also expect that we'll add another pass rusher. This could be as early as pick 13, if we're drafting from a pure BPA approach (i.e. Reuben Bain may be the best player available at that point).

14. I agree with those who have mentioned Kaden Wetjen and Eli Heidenreich as intriguing Day 3 sleepers (and potential special teams specialists).

15. Some other sleepers I'm keeping an eye on for Day 3: Bryce Boettcher, LB, Oregon; Nadame Tucker, EDGE, Western Michigan; Caden Curry, EDGE, Ohio State; Barion Brown, WR/KR, LSU

16. I don't know if Sean McVay would ever wish to add a RPO, Wildcat or "tush push" element to the offense (it would be tough to ask Matthew Stafford to leave the field), but... if they did, Taylen Green would be an intriguing prospect (poor man's Anthony Richardson). Worth a 6th/7th round pick?

17. Despite injury issues, I've added Jermod McCoy and Jordyn Tyson back on my board.

18. Four guys who are not on my board, perhaps surprisingly, are Akheem Mesidor (injury history, age), Zion Young (fit, off field issue), C.J. Allen (injury, fit) and Caleb Banks (overrated/bust potential). I recognize that I may look silly later if these guys succeed, but, as Dennis Miller used to say, that's just my opinion... I could be wrong.

19. I hope we get more clips of Les and Sean calling the prospects to tell them they're becoming Rams. Always love those.

20. One thing is certain... a very talented roster is about to get even more talented!

Disclaimer: Some people seem to get offended by the "lack of support in LA" talk so I want to be clear that I am not taking a shot at any of our loyal "super fans" here on the board.

I know this has been talked about before but Shanny is still mad about the Rams making them go to Australia. It seems the media is agreeing that the Rams asked for the whiners to avoid the "embarrassment" of Sofi being taken over again by the whiner fans.

Is this a "bad look" on the Rams? Are they really trying to avoid the whiner takeover that happens at Sofi every year???

If so, that tells me a lot about how the Rams FO and McVay feel about the "takeovers" at Sofi.

I know how I feel about about it and many others here as well. It's really is kind of "embarrassing" seeing these takeovers happen. We all have hear the "excuses" why and we all know it happens other places too, but when the Rams returned to LA, the mantra was "win and they will come". Well, I think we can honestly say we have been "winning" and have been consistently one of, if not the best teams on the league yet it still happens. There are plenty of fans in LA who do support their team and many of them are right here on this board who would never ever even consider selling tickets to whiner fans or any other team, no matter how high the profit is. Kudos to them for the unquestionable support. We need more fans like that in LA.

It's hilarious knowing that Shanny is p#ssed off about it. Poor whittle whiner babies won't have their usual home field advantage against us twice this year. lol

I think this will cause the rivalry to be even more intense going forward. Could this also cause a "riff" between Sean and Shanny??? Will the whiner fans try even harder to overtake Sofi next year because of this?
