Worse than Goff Since it's manic Monday, why not bring up Goff? In 2020, Goff's last quarter of the year was dreadful. He barely threw more TD's than INT's and he posted an 84.0 rating. A change was made and rightfully so. A championship caliber team cannot be saddled with that kind of inefficiency. A year later, where are we at QB? The last 4 games, Stafford has actually been worse than Goff was, putting up an 83.8 rating. He is proving to be just as unreliable and costly to the Rams chances of success as Goff was. Which sucks, but even more than the QB problem, we now have to also consider the common denominator. Comparing each of their last 4 regular season games as Rams. Stafford's decline is becoming alarming. His production has dropped and turnovers increased. That he is even in the same conversation as Goff at all is troubling. I 100 percent agree that Mcvay puts QBs in bad situations too often. He and Stafford are a perfect match that way. Stafford doesn't see a window he doesn't like and McVay doesn't see a defense he doesn't think he can air it out on. I'm not sure I see it that way. Goff struggled in random games like Miami and the Jets, two pitiful games. He also struggled against the 49ers when Kupp was dropping TDs.

Goff has generally been at his best when his best was required. Look back to last season against the Packers or even with a broken thumb against Seattle in the playoffs. Look back to New Orleans on the road. In the SB he was stymied but there wasn't a ton there for him 3 of his key players were hurt and McVay was shell-shocked.

Stafford on the other hand has a long history of not getting it done when games are meaningful. See playoff performances.. Until this season, Stafford had never beaten a team with a +5 winning differential. Goff has done it twice just this season and they have only won 3 games.

I'm feeling like the Rams will beat the Cardinals as they are collapsing worse. If the Rams have to play the eagles, 49ers, or bucs in round 2, Stafford may fold against superior DLs.

Goff has outplayed most QBs his last 5 games since they got Reynolds and Aman-Ra looks like the next Cooper Kupp/Robert Woods.

Despite missing his Pro Bowl Center, Pro Bowl TE, and a ton of injuries to the OL.

This to a rookie HC and play caller in Dan Campbell....
